HDCKU Taptic Engine Replacement for iPhone 7 2 Pack

I actually don't know how crucial this is to overall functioning of the phone. I dropped my phone in the ocean (cracked screen so it wasn't waterproof!) and when I got it open, the taptic engine (among other things) was a mess, so I replaced it. The vibration of notifications only works about 50% of the time, but otherwise my phone works (with many replacement parts), so it comes down to: is the taptic engine just for vibrations? sort of? so it only sometimes works. Not a big loss though, overall. Maybe I'll try the second one to see if the first was just wonky.

I got the 2-pack of replacement taptic engines. The ones I received looked like they were in rough shape cosmetically (scratched and marked up), but after installing the first one, all the vibration on my phone is working again!The repair wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Along with the taptic engine I bought the cheapest iPhone 7 repair tool kit I could find on Amazon and it had everything I needed. I followed the iFixit guide for replacing the taptic engine, and used a hair dryer instead of buying an iOpener.

Items came quickly but both Taptic Engine’s produce “Unable to activate Touch ID on this IPhone”... The taptic engine that is installed does produce a slight vibration so it does “work “I have had to activate the digital home button to be able to use most features

I’m mad at this product and also okay with it. All over the website it said it was new but it’s not. I thought it would be a new knockoff part but it is a original Apple made product which is great but it’s really obvious that they took it out of a used phone and the crossed out the Apple logos with a sharpie. Happy it was original but upset that it came with so many scuffs and scratches and listed it as new and saying it’s new in the description.

This is a very good replacement. Install was pretty easy, check YouTube for video tutorials. This taptic engine feels just like the original, and it comes with two! From the looks of it, these are original apple parts taken from recycled phones, which is 100X better than a reproduction any day. Only reason it's not a 5 star is one came broken, which is not uncommon and probably why it comes with two. I highly recommend

Product is clearly not brand new. $18 for a pulled and inexpensive part passed off as new is a joke. In a pinch, I installed it anyways. Apple logo blacked out, scratched up, etc. Not happy, 3 stars for it working.
