Fit my 8250XL perfectly. This refurbished my 8 year old razor to "Like New" status. It fits just like the original and works just as well too. I am very happy with this. Have been using it for several weeks now, and I expect it will last at least a few years. It helped improve the shave and cut the time in half - no more going over the same areas two and three times to get a close shave. Has improved the closeness of new shaving heads. I was ready to replace the heads again, but will not need to until next year now. Yes, that much improvement. I very highly recommend this to rejuvenate an older razor.

I have a Norelco Shaver and the head holder wore out. I took it to a shaver repair shop, hoping to get it repaired. I didn’t get to see the repair man since he was ill. I dropped off the shaver and later came and picked it up. The lady that waited on me said that I had the head on wrong, which I knew was a lie. The repair man just cleaned the shaver. When I got home, I tried it out. The problem wasn’t fixed. I found this Norelco Shaver Head Holder from Amazon. It is for the same model of my shaver. I put it on, now my shaver works like new again. I am very happy that I was able to fix my shaver like new. This is my second time that ordered this head holder, since I wanted to have a spare on hand if the first one I ordered wears out. I also ordered a new set of shaver heads to have on hand to keep my shaver working like new. I am very happy that almost anything can be ordered from Amazon. It saves a lot time driving all over town trying to find a hard to find item. Thanks again Amazon!

The hinge was missing as if it may have been a used item. Of course, I did not realize the hinge was missing until after the return window was closed. Now I am out about $25 without a usable part.

I prefer the older style Norelco razor, so was perturbed when the shaver head began to disintegrate. This replacement head retainer fits my model 8240XL perfectly and was just what was needed to continue using "old faithful". It is from China, Norelco apparently no longer makes or supplies this item.

Arrived on Dec 4, 2014, ahead of promised day (Dec 23,2014 - Jan 12, 2015) . Perfect fit, just like the original.It did not came with cleaning brush as shown on website.

The factory Norelco shaver head holders are quite good, but over time the clip that keeps them attached to the rest of the shaver loses its force, and when I open it and go to knock the shavings out after a a shave, it will detach instead. Unfortunately Norelco is no longer making them, so I ordered what looked like replacements for my two shavers and was foolish enough to throw out the old holders before using the new ones much. I soon discovered the three interlocking "petals" did not fit together as tightly on the knock-offs, so when I went to knock the shaving out, the whole thing would disintegrate into petals, the retainer clip, shaver blades, and shaver screens, sprayed across the bathroom sink, countertop, and floor. I ordered other knock-offs from other manufacturers that were slightly different, but they had the same problem -- the cheap plastic just doesn't hold together.After several failed attempts to find an acceptable replacement, I finally tried this one, since it was returnable for free via Amazon if it didn't work. When it arrived and I inspected it, I found it to look far worse than any of the others when it came to how wide the gaps were between the petals, so I expected it to disintegrate even easier than the others. Except it hasn't so far, despite several weeks of tapping the shavings out, and despite how cheap it looks. So, I must admit, while it doesn't look like a triumph manufacturing precision, it works, and that's what matters to me.UPDATE: after using it for a month, although it has been functioning fine, the silver paint is already scrubbing off, exposing the dull greenish plastic underneath, so I'm knocking this review down from 4-stars to 3-stars.

Part is exact Phillips Norelco cutter carriage for my Speed XL 8260XLrazor(3 blades per head). Has hinge and spring so just pop off old one and put in noew one and drop in blades and use you urrent blade retainer.The head carriage is plastic and after 9 years the pins that hold the blade retainer holes wore down and they un hinge and come out of the carriage. For $15 it was worth a new one that is nice and tight. These razors sell from over $250 on Amazon. I get them after Xmas at Target for $66. Have many new spares since the Speed XL series is much more rugged than the crayy architech series.Unit doe snOT come with cleaning brush shown.Like I said for $15, if you keep your batteries excercized, it will last another 10 years. I have some that still work from the 1970's with all stainless parts like the Santa sled inthe old commercials.Norelco makes the best Razors. Treat your self to new blades when replacing the head carriage. You use this everyday on your face fo a few bucks to treat yourself is worth it. Your wife probably spends twice as much just shaving her legs!
