Quality has dropped, surface rough and noisy, look for a better one
I first bought the Jelly Comb Gaming Aluminium Mouse Mouse Pad in February 2016 and it was great - the backing was fully rubberized for even grip on the table and the front a beautifully smooth and deep black. The deep black looked great and the smooth finish meant it was silent when moving the mouse. I would rate the first one 5 stars. After almost two years I still liked it so much that I ordered a 2nd one for my office.Unfortunately the second one received was terrible. They have obviously done a lot of cost reduction in their manufacturing process at the expense of reduced quality. Instead of a fully rubberized backing material it now has a few small cheap round rubber feet. The front is even worse: it is now slightly rough, which drags on the mouse and makes it scratching noises when moving the mouse. The colour is also dark grey instead of deep black with some uneven patches you can see with naked eye but unfortunately they don't show in the pictures below.

Do not buy. This is not the same quality product that was sold a few years ago
Like another reviewer, I had purchased one of these mousepads back in August of 2015 and it was absolutely fantastic (5 star product), I liked it so much that I went back to amazon and selected "order again" to buy a second one. The manufacturing quality has gone downhill to the point where this is not a usable mousepad. The aluminum is noticeably thinner than the older one, It no longer has a full rubber backing but instead just a few rubber feet glued to the back which makes it not as "grippy" or stable, but perhaps worst of all is that the surface of this mousepad is so rough and "scratchy" that is just isn't usable. I will be returning this for a refund and shopping for a better product. It's a shame because the older one was so good. Unfortunately they have obviously decided to downgrade the quality. I would have happily paid more for a better product. This is unusable. Please check the dates on the reviews before you purchase.

DOES NOT WORK (Black Version) How do you mess up a mousepad? Apparenly like this!
Quite simply this mousepad does not work as a mousepad. The surface is either too smooth or unreflective, I tested it with three different optical mice and it was the same with each one: ZERO movement, no tracking at all. I could move the mouse around on my desk perfectly fine but as soon as the light went onto this surface, nothing.I really wanted to have a nice aluminum mousepad and I couldn't imagine it was that hard to make sure the coating you put on your mousepad works! Very disappointing.I had the black version and returned it when I realized the above, so if you're set on trying it I suggest the grey one since it may reflect more. Buyer beware.

Noisy, and not compatible with Apple Blue Tooth Rechargeable Mouse
I have the apple rechargeable Magic Mouse. I purchased this when my old, cheapo $1 neoprene mousepad was finally old enough to replace. That cheap pad works better than this one. First, the packaging it comes in is anything but "frustration free." The perforated pull tab tore immediately and continued to tear as I kept trying to open it and it cut my finger when I did. Cutting your finger on a mouse pad before you even use it is pretty bad start.Second, this mouse pad is NOISEY. If you work in an open environment or with other people around, they'll regret this purchase you for this. It's the aural equivalent of fish in a microwave. Finally, and this was the deal breaker. The Apple Rechargeable BT mouse simply does not navigate well over this surface. It's slow, sometimes the cursor won't even move. My cheap neoprene mouse pad worked so much better than this thing. I'm just going to buy 11 of those for this price and they will carry me until the technology advances to where we no longer need a mouse.

Great Pad for Small Spaces; Logitech g700s, Playing CS:GO and BL2
First, why get a hard mousepad? Aside from being easier to clean than cloth alternatives, the hard surface is superior for mice with a laser-optical sensor (as opposed to a non-laser optical sensor). My Logitech g700s is such a mouse, and I've noticed an improvement in both movement comfort and aiming in CS:GO and BL2. I had never heard of Jelly Comb before I stumbled across this mousepad, so one can imagine the hesitation I might've felt before purchasing what was my first hard-surface mousepad.I can confirm the "scratching" sound that other users have noted, though it's less a scratch and more of a scrubbing feel. This is easily countered, however, by regularly cleaning the hard surface with a gentle cleaner and a microfiber cloth (and cleaning the feet of the mouse in use). The surface is also cold to the touch, but warms fairly quickly with use and keeps warmth for the time being used.If the mouse has a braided cable, there is a chance that the cable will scrape on the surface in use and feel uncomfortable. Putting just a little electric tape in these problem areas will fix this issue, and wireless mice users won't have to worry about it.Perhaps my favorite aspect of this mousepad is the size; there are very few, high-quality mouse pads that are specialized for small spaces. Because of the 9.5" limit Jelly Comb wisely placed on this product, there's plenty of room on my pull-out desk for both my Corsair K65 RGB LUX and a (comparatively) generous amount of space to move my mouse. There are larger sizes of this pad available for those with more space, and I would certainly recommend them for those well-endowed with a larger desk space.Overall, I highly recommend this pad to users with a laser-optical mouse, small desk space and willingness to try a new brand. For standard-optical mice and large desk space, there are better options. But this is still a well-made mousepad, and I'll certainly buy from Jelly Comb again.
