Easy to use and appears 'pro-sumser' quality
I haven't used this for tig yet, but mig aluminum w/ spoolgun was smooth and easy. It runs stick really well. The machine is easy to use, small and lightweight. Using tweco consumables makes it super easy to run to the local welding supply or even Home Depot to get tips. The only gripe so far is that when running the spoolgun, it constantly flashes an alert that you're remote on the screen. So when you're trying to adjust the wire speed, it will still flash. Meaning you'll have to wait to see what you've set it to until after it goes back to the speed. It seems trivial, but when you're just looking for a minor adjustment and confirming on the machine what you set it to, it can be annoying.I do prefer the American style power switch that is on the front and easier to reach, but you get used to the euro style next to the power cable. All said and done, i haven't experienced any problems with the function of the machine at all. I haven't had a ton of use with it yet, but I plan on doing some more stick welding with it this afternoon though.

good at MIG flux core, but obviously...used
i got mine days ago, and it had been obviously used for awhile when i got it, like a refurbished one, or a return one.i used MIG for a small project of elbow water pipe with flux core wire, the result is good.but the reel had couples of times of loose issue when did MIG, i think the reason is the big washer for the reel is plastic which is not easy for friction control, I'll do some DIY here. and one screw on panel is not at its position which make the panel not flat.not like other Forney welders, it feels like an old design, or maybe designed by another engineering designer, but the MIG result is good..

Great Welder, Unbelievable Customer Service. Buy One.
This is a great product from a great company. I am a super novice welder. I ordered the welder. At first it wouldn't, the wire wouldn't feed (maybe I set it up incorrectly??)/ The next day the lights went out...it was dead. I called Forney and had the best customer service I've ever had in my entire life. They hooked me up with an engineer named Zach. He took the item for return and promptly sent me a new one.Once I received then new one, I set it up and called Zach. Not only did he walk me through the proper use of the machine, he spent at least a half hour reviewing general welding practices with me.The new welder is flawless, easy and fun to use.I have nothing but respect for this company and their welder. If you want a welder, buy this one.

Poor Product But Great Customer Service
I purchased this machine 7 years ago in attempt to have both a stick welder and flux wire capabilities in a single unit. I should have known better. The stick welding function was adequate, but like a fancy microwave, it had too many options and settings that weren't necessary and didn't make the machine perform any better. How complex can a simple stick welder be?The flux core function was always a problem. Unless the cable it stretched straight, the wire feed hangs up and must be pulled through. To add insult to injury, the Process Selection knob on the front of the machine broke off because the shaft is plastic! (see photo). To repair and make the welder functional again, the whole PC board must be replaced. For a replacement PC board Forney Industries wanted over $300! There was no other option. All told, this welder is all show and no go. Lots of bells, whistles and switches on the front panel, but it is far short of being even a "low cost hobby welder" and is at best expensive, poorly designed and cheaply built.I must at this point, however, give praise to Forney Industries for their Customer Service. As noted in other reviews there are substantial problems with the welder, but the Customer Service is superb. After discussions with Customer Service, Forney Industries provided me with the necessary PC board free of charge! The repair was easy and the welder is back in use. I just wish that the engineering of the product was equal to the efforts of the good folks in Customer Service at Forney.

190a welds great so far
Let me specify this is for former 324 190a.So far so good. A little rocky start. Once I plugged it in it came on and wouldn't turn off via the off switch. Tried to call forney but they were closed for the day. So I figured I'd light her up and see how she welds anyway. Started welding and wow! Very easy to dial in settings. The 4 stage trigger is awesome. If you put it on 4t you can hit the trigger and let off and it will keep welding until you tap the trigger again. Really helps with fatigue.all I've done so far are some tests on 1/4" plate so that's all I can review on so far. Once I get some lighter material I'll review on that also.

Don't waste your money on Lincoln, Hobart or Miller in this price range.
This welder is great. Very well made with metal mechanics. Beats any Hobart, Lincoln, or Miller In this price range. You won't be disappointed. Excellent value. I would highly recommend this welder to anyone shopping for a good home shop welder. Very well designed and engineered.

Great Machine
I thought this machine was a little expensive when compared to the other brands out there, but decided to purchased based on the good review. Well, I am really impressed with it. It is very well made and works great.I was surprised how well it actually works on 120 volt power. You do need a 20 amp outlet to plug in the heavy duty adapter cord.

Forney 324 190-Amp Multi Process - A really nice welder!
Great welder. Had a very small issue with the regulator and Forney shipped a replacement one right away. Great customer service! Tried all the processes except tig and it runs flawless. My initial impression was the leads could've been a thicker gauge, but testing stick at high amps proved there is no issues with that. They can easily be swapped out for thicker ones in the future if I ever decide to do that. The ability to plug into a standard outlet when needed is a huge bonus when traveling with the welder. The built in program seems to be dialed in nicely too, although I prefer using the manual volt and wire speed adjustment when doing mig work. 7018, 6011 and 6013 runs beautiful. I haven't tried 6010 and it's not mentioned in the documentation although I've read most inverters have trouble with this rod. Coming from an older tombstone, this one is a pleasure to use and much easier on the back. The roller mechanism works really nice and it's easy to switch out wires with lots of room to get your hands in there. Switching polarity is a breeze also when doing flux work.
