**Q: Are there holes in the top plate for mounting a beam?**
A: There are 4 holes in the top and bottom plates of the Heavy Duty Steel Shores.  They are 9/16" holes and they are roughly 1" on center from each edge.  These holes are multi purpose and can be used to anchor to any surface.

**Q: What is the diameter of the post? We need a 4" diameter post**

**Q: How difficult is it to raise once the Jack has weight on it?**
A: It is easy to do with a strong bar  
Which does not come with the jack.

**Q: Whats the steel gauge?  How much shear force it can handle?**
A: This is very very solid.   I have it holding up a branch of a 250 year old oak tree that must weigh 4-5000 lbs.  No problem
