They can go straight into the big rockwool hole, as they do not have any wrapping on them. Your best bet is to transplant the starter plug into a 3" or 4" . WHY? It is much easier to control the moisture level in a 3"-4" than a larger block. Just wait until the block feels really light before you water. Smaller blocks like these will keep an even moisture level in the entire block. Rule of thumb: water 15 minutes before the block goes dry. If you transplant into bigger blocks: It is essential to keep the upper part of the block moist by misting or watering sparingly.

Review: True to size - These are perfect. We have a Gardyn and didn't realize they are bigger then what we needed. But, they are ready to trim and once I soaked them in water they cut right apart with scissors. Make sure you wear gloves. Its melted, spun rock so the little pieces can be irritating to your skin. My plants flourish in them and for the price its great!
Review: Didn't get crushed! - Because they weren't packaged with other things. They are 100% useable! Unlike some other vendors ship their product. I ordered some 1 inch by mistake. And they were shipped in a way that they were crushed. And if they have been crushed or squeezed. They are garbage, because the air get destroyed. So I would order again!

**Q: After the seed sprouts can you put into the cup**
A: If you were careful you may be able to but you should really use this to sprout the seeds if possible.  I did put a clone in one with success but you will need to make the hole in the top of the cube a bit larger first.

**Q: do these ever expire?**
A: It won't expire, but you can try planting as soon as possible, which will be very effective. Do not place in direct sunlight.

**Q: If using for germination can you plant right into soil after sprouting or do you somehow have to remove from cube?**
A: No, plant directly into the ground and let it grow.

**Q: Will these fit my Lettuce Grow farmstand?**
A: It did not work for me,

it’s very shapeable and stays wet for the most part. it can break apart and melt if it stays in water. it’s a sensory nightmare for sensitive skin. the whole bag is filled with dust that looks like fiberglass dust and it will get everywhere.
