Easy to Use and Sharp!
I treated myself to this vegetable peeler after having used the old, metal kind for years. I've purchased other Zyliss kitchen tools in the past and they do make excellent quality items. Check out their ice cream scoop.I first used this over the holidays when peeling potatoes for a large group dinner. It was very sharp, had good balance, and was comfortable in my hand. It seemed to take a slightly thicker slice than my old peeler, but was not excessive, and, in my mind, the job being much faster and requiring less effort was a fair trade off. It has the metal "eye" removing tip which is very sharp and works slick. There is also a plastic blade protector on it when new that doesn't stay on well. I'm not sure if it's meant to but it would be nice as it would be easy to slice your finger while searching through the drawer without it being in place.I highly recommend this vegetable peeler, and Zyliss kitchen tools, if you're looking for an upgrade to your existing ones.9/15/15- I've been using this a lot lately with the summer vegetables in season. It's still very sharp and looks almost new still. It's been an excellent purchase and I have the soft skin peeler as well. It works great for peaches and stone fruit.

Perfect Tool for the kitchen
I have been looking for a spiralizer for about a month now, I tried every different kind on Amazon. Some of the more expensive ones didn't cut the vegetables, but almost cut ME! This is by far the easiest and cheapest one out there. I was dumbfounded when I realized how easy it was to use. It works the same as a vegetable peeler, but the vegetables come off in strips. It turned carrots and squash into perfect little strips that I sauteed in 2 min. Perfect substitution for pasta in the summer time when I'm cutting back on the grain intake. I would definitely recommend this product before any of the other types of spiralizers. This julienne peeler works GREAT and it's so easy to clean.

This is my all time favorite peeler for more delicate foodstuffs
This is my all time favorite peeler for more delicate foodstuffs. I've used it several times a day for four years now. It is still very sharp and the blade is now bent which is a bad combination so it's time for a new one. When I bought this gem of a tool my finger must have slipped and I accidentally ordered two peelers instead of one so I lucked out in the long run because back then they were only five dollars each and so I already have an economical replacement.at hand.I wouldn't want to use this peeler for foods like potatoes or celery but it really will even peel a grape - that's the first thing I used it for and it turned out to be good practice for getting the hang of the thing. It works wonderfully for tasks such as taking off as little skin as possible from expensive things like turmeric roots. If you want one of these wonderful peelers I would suggest not letting it bother you too much if your finger slips and you accidentally order two of them.

I love this peeler!
My mom bought us one of these a couple of years ago and just went on and on about how great it was. When I tried it, I was surprised to find that we actually agreed on something. I loved it! Unfortunately, I lost it when we moved from Texas to Idaho. I looked everywhere for one, but could not find it anywhere in Idaho. I tried two other peelers who claimed to be ergonomically engineered, but neither one maximized my productivity or minimized my fatigue (per the definition). Then I decided to look for the Zyliss Y on Amazon. To my delight, I found it and it was only $7. I was so excited that I bought 2 and sent the other to my mom, because ironically she lost hers as well. I would recommend this peeler to anyone. It peels everything from apples and potatoes to carrots, zucchini and cucumbers. I also use it for making some great garnishes and homemade potato chips. Just be careful... it is super sharp and if you get carried away, you could lose part or all of a fingernail. :)

Not a potato peeler? oops...
Okay I'll admit I had no idea what this gadget did but it looked awesome! I was looking for a new potato peeler and came across this. I seriously thought it would peel potato with one side and julienne with the other. After clearing up that minor confusion...This product is very sturdy, is comfortable to use, and came as pictured. The delivery was great. It's a little awkward to use on small fruits or vegetables. I tried to julienne apple pieces, which may not have been the best to start off with because they are not the firmest, the pieces came out in uneven sizes. The tops of the julienne pieces were thick but the bottom was very thin, and about an inch or so long. They didn't look good at all. I'm going to try carrots and potatoes next. Overall the product comes as described but does not work as I expected it to so I'm a little disappointed. I'll give it some more practice and maybe figure out the best things to use this with.

Works ok for what it is
I wanted to like it, but it's a bit flimsy with the blade wiggling about, but since the more expensive ones had poor ratings I decided I could risk $8 for a try. I ended up just doing what I always have, using a knife and making thin cuts to do my veggie 'pastas'.UPDATE: 12/13/13 I gave this little gadget another shot and worked a bit on my technique and it actually does a pretty good job at making nice, thin zucchini spaghetti. I cannot vouch for other veggies as I am into the zucchini right now. It does still waste the core, but I can make something else with that, so I will raise my review to 4 stars... It is inexpensive, and it does have limitations, but it is great for what I am using it for.

I've tried many peelers but this is the best
I bought this as a replacement for an identical Zyliss peeler because it lasted for years and is very comfortable to use

Great peeler
I've only ever had cheap ones so this is a big step up. Makes peeling the potatoes much more pleasant! Has a little scoop to get rid of the indent bits too. It's quite chunky which feels good in the hand.

Comfortable handle, tough, and sharp! Yellow model
Wish I had have purchased this years ago. I have less waste, can peel an apple in no time, better than my apple peeler which never comes out anymore. Sharp and the handle is so comfortable for my aging arthritic hands. Excellent tool that should be in everyone's kitchen. This review is for the yellow model, I've never owned or tried the new model with removable blades.UPDATE: March 22,2018I came back to order another in case the time comes when it is no longer made. I was surprised to see people complaining about this peeler and having problems with it breaking. I use mine practically every day, I peel apples, cucumbers, potatoes, zucchini, squash, even Hubbard squash! and waxed turnips! I've never been afraid to tackle anything with it. I'm ordering another and I'm hoping the quality is the same as the first because I love this peeler and want to make sure my kitchen is never without one. I will update if my opinion changes.UPDATE: October 13, 2021 THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN ADDED TO ANOTHER PEELER MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY. I DID NOT REVIEW ANY PEELER OTHER THAN THE BRIGHT YELLOW ONE N THE PICTURE.
