Review: This is a masterpiece - I have purchased the Uno Casa 2in1 Dutch Oven. I have to say it is an incredible product. Not only is it a 5 quart cast iron camp stove, but it also has a frying pan lid so you can easily convert it into a large frying pan. The Dutch oven is pre-seasoned which helps it maintain its nonstick surface so you can enjoy food with half the mess. The enamel coating is also great as it allows for easy cleaning and greater durability of the product. I have used it for baking bread and it was a breeze. The heat distribution is on point and I had no problems with burning or uneven cooking. I also appreciate that the Dutch oven comes with a lid rest so you can store your lid without getting it dirty. The elegant black design is a great touch and it looks beautiful on my stove top. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality heavy-duty cast iron Dutch oven.
Review: Performs brilliantly!! - So I have been wanting a Le Creuset dutch oven but I couldn't justify the expense, then I found this dutch oven by Uno Casa and decided to give it a try. I am in love! It's beautiful right out of the box in this shade of red. It is very heavy and appears to be very well made. I downloaded the free cookbook right away and found the recipes they offer to look like they're easy to make. I decided to go with a different recipe I have for a Lemon Herb pot roast and pulled out my new dutch oven to make it. In 2½ hours I had an amazing, fork-tender chuck shoulder roast with veg and a delicious au jus. I admit, I was really worried when I added the vegetables to the pot after cooking the meat for 2 hours; it wasn't tender yet, and I had no hopes at all that the potatoes and veggies would be soft by the time the ringer on the timer pinged. I was so happy to be completely wrong! Everything was delicious!! And I couldn't believe how amazing it came out just being cooked on the gas stove, not in the oven or crock pot. I found my favorite new piece of crockery and I didn't have to plunk down a couple hundred dollars for it! If you are like me and dreaming of owning a Le Creuset, skip that and get this instead. You won't regret it!

**Q: Where is this made, ie is it made in China?**
A: I own a grill pan that is a product of the enameled cast iron artisanship of China. It is nowhere near the Superior Universe of every one of the numerous Staub and Le Creuset items that I have purchased, some kept and some for gifts (Dutch ovens, griddles, grill pans). The development of enameled cookware technology originated in the 1760s in Germany. The idea of finding a safe, convenient coating first took hold there: in scientific writing and in actual iron works. The best commercial enameled cast iron artisanship today remains in France. It was never in China.
