K'NEX Control Crane Building Set - 679 Parts - Working Motorized Crane - Ages 9 & Up

As a huge K’nex fan since 1995, I figured I’d give this set a try. It has been a long time since I put together a model from the intended instruction book. It was fun and fairly easy to build. Initially, it was difficult trying to determine which length black rod you needed, (this kit has special addition colors) but once you got going, you quickly figured out which rod needed to go were. It was fun and as a “plus,” the kit also contains some very rare K’nex pieces!!!Cons:The string was too short for the intended model, however you can use string purchased from any hardware in the world.If your going to have a lot of K'nex anyways, I suggest picking up a roll from the hardware store anyways - Add it to your K'nex kit. There are many things you can do with string and K'nex.

Amazon made it right.Got the parts I needed. Think they removed my 1 star review. Not cool crapzon!!Got for a 8yr old ended up building it myself like everyone else. Only a few hard steps but less your kid can sit for a while and build something it's not for them. Too much technology crap now days distracting kids. Worth the buck. Good luck!!

My ten year old lived this for Christmas. It was a nice alternative building toy to legos. It's very big, took some time to complete, bonus that it has a motor and lifts/lowers. My only complaint is that there are no extra pieces provided. My son accidentally broke one piece (they can be difficult to come apart after being connected) and so we had to modify the build since there were no spares. A couple extras thrown in would have been great. Overall, a wonderful toy!

Big fan of K’nex. If it’s not the model keeping your mind busy it’s reinforcing the models or and creating your own designs. There was some extra peace in the since that I didn’t use. But all accounted for. Great price for the fun you get at the end of a days work.. Haha or for your kids, they will like it to if into using their minds. And since a kid I have been able to play with multiple different models of Knex. Still great.

I will not nix words, this was a pain to put together. Granted, it is awesome when completed, but even a 38 year old engineer struggled to get it together. I've had other sets, and typically parts are color coded so they are easier to identify. These are not. Have plenty of patience, and be prepared to redo things a few times.

Excellent design that closely mimics many of the features and structural members of a real crane. This is a fun and educational set for young kids as they see the structure become more rigid with each added component.

My boys love this! Hours of building enjoyment during an extremely cold winter day. A total win in my book!

I did not rate easy to assemble. I gave it as a gift to my grandson to challenge him. He enjoyed it and it did present the right level of challenge.

My 9 year old (and I) had great fun building this Knex crane together. It was definitely challenging (a step up from Lego) and the instructions could have been clearer but with a little help from YouTube videos we managed to complete the crane. Lots of fun was had and my son and his younger brother both love playing with the completed crane! We have already ordered our next Knex project to work on together for his birthday.
