I've used it as a bed for over a year. It's Soft, Durable, and Washable. I usually use a sleeping bag liner ($12 on Amazon) adding a blanket or duvet in the winter. Sometimes I flop into it with a just blanket. Unlike a string hammock, it is soft and supportive, nothing cuts into you. On hot summer nights, nothing is better. I have a bad back, sleeping without at least one leg elavated gives me lasting pain. I'd heard some folks with bad backs use hammocks and it made no sense to me. Now, I get it. I don't ever want to go back. After a couple weeks, I throw it in the washing machine and dryer. Absolutely beautiful and we think it's very comfortable. We only had 9 feet between the trees from which we hung it so we had to knot the ropes in one end to shorten the whole thing a bit. But it worked out great. Daughter loves reading in it. Just the right amount of snuggle and cuddle!! That is, until I got to use it for one season and the ropes frayed and snapped. Yup!! SNAPPED! Thankfully, it was as I was getting out and not as I was getting in! Soooo disappointing!!! So now I have this beautiful hammock and stand and I can’t hang it. I took it inside after each use so it didn’t stay outside year round. When we stored it for the winter, it was washed, air dried and then stored in a drawer as a comforter would so it wasn’t haphazardly tossed somewhere. Had to buy a totally new replacement as buying a new rope to replace would be quite costly.
