The marks are a bit like when a photograph gets folded and creased its then not possible to hide the whitish marks that show through. If this was a £8.00 'cheapee' from China I would not complain but it is a £30+ item. Any visible minor imperfections can of course be removed in Photoshop, but that's extra work.When in use , its possible to drape the material over a large collapsible folding backdrop without the backdrop collapsing under the weight of the backdrop which is very useful. This saves having to put up a frame in a small space. I think it will be obsoletely fine for portraits.I also bought the brown bronze colour which is not quite as rich in colour as the photographs - always a chance we take -Just the slight lack of richness to the colour was a minor disappointment on that one. - I gave it 4 stars.I am quite a picky person and I do like research for ages before purchasing anything. This item seemed the best for a sensible price.
