I used it to paint the high edges of a formal three-story staircase, complete with lots of curved plaster, in our 150-year-old house. It got the edges perfectly, better than the previous job which was done by a contractor. And I got it done in less than two hours. Like others, I brushed the paint onto the pads, and had to fiddle with it a bit to get the feel of the thing, but it did a good job everyplace but one corner, which obviously was never square in the first place. Clean up was easy, and I found that the pad really held a lot of paint -- more than you'd think by looking at it. FWIW, I almost never write product reviews, unless the item is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This was exceptionally good. Worth every penny. Don’t overload it and don’t press really hard when applying to the wall and this will get the job done quickly. Comes with 2 pads that can be cleaned (if using water soluble paint) and can be adapted to an extension pole to reach higher spots. Just go slowly doing that. All in all it a good tool with. Its gets a lot of hate from pro painters but for weekend warriors or someone with a non steady grip it’s perfect. You will need to cut-in the 90-degree edge either way **Q: How many feet of edge line can I paint per pad?** A: If your careful keeping the edges from getting excess paint the linear feet is unlimited using the same color. **Q: Can i tilt this to paint cathedral type ceiling** A: it is designed to do the edging, or "cutting in" around molding, and between adjacent surfaces like a wall and a ceiling.
