Review: Must have baby item! - We love this swaddle. It is sooo much easier than trying to wrap a wiggling fussy baby with a loose blanket, and it stays put all night!! I was worried about two things when purchasing this swaddle: - We live in Texas and since overheating / sleeping in a warm room is a risk for SIDS, I was nervous that this would make my little one too hot. We keep our house on 74, and she loved being in this swaddle. I never worried about her getting too hot. We put her in naked except her diaper, and she has been fine. - I was also worried that buying the newborn size meant we would be buying another small size really soon. Turns out, my baby is now two months old and still wearing this newborn swaddle. (She was 6.5 pounds when born and we haven’t been to her 2 month checkup yet but I’m guessing around 9 pounds.). Since you are supposed to stop swaddling when they start rolling over, I don’t foresee needing the next size up by the time she is outgrown of this one. Also, this fabric is SO soft it makes cuddling her while she’s in the swaddle (during dream feeds) that much sweeter. We ended up buying a second one - we now have two of the exact same one, so that we always have one available when one is in the wash. Also, I recommend reading or watching The Happiest Baby on the Block. Swaddling will make your baby cry more at first but then relax as she learns she’s secure... don’t mistake that to mean she hates swaddling and stop doing it. The swaddle has to be wrapped tight or your baby will have enough room to wiggle and fight the swaddle, frustrating her. Once you get the hang of it though this realllllyy helps sleep quality! Your little one won’t wake up all night because of the startle reflex:)

A bonus is, if he has a blowout, it contains the mess and is easy to clean, just pop it in the wash and comes out STAIN FREE! Highly recommended if your little one’s likes to be swaddled. You can transition with hands out once they start to get close to rolling over.

We love this swaddle. It is sooo much easier than trying to wrap a wiggling fussy baby with a loose blanket, and it stays put all night!! I love HALO sleepsacks and have used them from birth through age 1 with all of my children. I recently purchased this swaddle sack for my January baby because his room is drafty and I wanted a heavier material. This material feels like a minky blanket and provides more warmth than the traditional HALO sleepsack swaddles. I layer him in a footed sleeper underneath and he stays cozy all night.
