Yes, this is pricy...BUT this has become my favorite bowl!Cons- I've found smoking with this in my front room, you'll go through coals faster if you use the all natural coconut squares like I do. For a good, long smoke I need 3 coals to get it perfect.- since this bowl is metal, it takes longer to get it warmed up and going compared to ceramic bowls.Pros- no tongs needed to rotate coals!-easy and fast, clean up between flavor switches! Remove spent shisha, and simply do a quick wipe of the inside with a napkin or paper towel.- produces large cloud without being harsh!-tobacco, natural tea leaves, vapor stones, and drizzling vapor juice on your smoking product all smoke well with this bowl, from my experience.-as long as you don't over fill the bowl, so it won't come in contact with the coal tray, no burning!I like to "touch everything" so this bowl is perfect because I'm occupied with rotating the coal tray, or stirring the shisha to get the perfect smoke, and when you wipe it out for the next flavor everything in the bowl is dry, crunchy, but NOT burned (once you get use to your own)This bowl may outlive some of my hookahs!

I was a little skeptical about trying the Apple on Top because I constantly hear longtime hookah smokers dissing it. However, I was pleasantly surprised and didn't experience any of the weak smoke or problems with shisha that other people complained about.One thing I can say is, don't expect to get this bowl lit on one or two coals. The aluminum DOES take a bit more to heat up. I use Coconara coals and it definitely needs three of them to get going. After that, though, it's pretty golden. The smoke is nice and thick, the flavor lasts awhile, and the shisha never burns. Not to mention you don't have to spend all that time and effort punching holes in foil with a pin.Some people have reported that the Apple on Top goes through shisha faster, but this isn't the case in my experience either. I actually found that it uses less. However, this may be influenced by your preferred brand of shisha.In terms of construction, it's larger than I expected and it's pretty sturdy too. It definitely won't break if you drop it.I actually like it a lot better than the Kaloud Lotus. Yeah, maybe it looks a little sillier than your average ceramic bowl but it gets the job done and it does it well.

We searched for months to find a good bowl. We had moved and lost ours, and all the ones we tried were just not cutting it. This one is perfect for us. So easy to clean and switch out between sessions. Well worth the price. Plus it can’t break when you drop it so for anyone prone to dropping bowls this one is definitely worth it. Easy to manage heat and it burns at a consistent pace, great smoking sessions.

I really tried to like this, because it was cute and sturdy. I saw so many positive reviews across multiple sites.For context, I have used a hookah/argileh on and off for many (20+) years. I have a whole system to get great smoke with my rig, and I think I'm pretty good at improving it with random additions/parts/hacks without going overboard. I use a small Mya QT that was converted to a 2 hose, Al Fakher is usually the shisha, 3 kings 40mm is the coal.That being said:- The smoke didn't get "thick" until the second coal- "Thick" smoke was maybe 30% as thick as my normal smoke (no exaggerating)- I burned my fingers a couple of times in ways I normally wouldn't, due to design (and the metal on top gets HOT, obviously)- The bulbous nature of the silicone apple took up a lot of tray space - couldn't leave the new lit coal there as I usually would- I don't think the almost loose lid/foil replacement/top is a good idea as is; kind of just sits on top and should probably have a hinge or something else to keep it there?- I get the leaf on the lid is meant for ease of turning it, but I usually just place my coals where I need them as they're lit; I don't need to shift them around, so this is not necessary for meFYI for those curious, it looks like a typical hookah bowl surrounded by rubbery silicone rings in the overall appearance of a spherical shape.This was a cool design in theory but it didn't work at all for my setup.

Apple on top works great and looks good. Evenly distributes the heat. Absolutely NO burning of my shisha. I love it! Definitely recommend using it in conjunction with the Apple on Top Provost II. I just got that one right before they completely sold out online. I haven’t used it with the AOT just yet. But the videos look promising. Very happy with it, and would purchase again without hesitation.

Super convenient, easy to clean and pack. It's great for the everyday smokers. If the coals are fresh, the rubber areas can get a little hot so be careful. There is still metal underneath it all. I'd recommend not over packing the bowl so it can breathe better, also then it won't burn the top of the tobacco. The one I received had matte black metal parts, it looks so nice.

I bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday since both of us love smoking hookah. We use large king coals because with her old bowl they lasted the perfect amount of time and provided the perfect amount of heat. What we found with the large coals is that they don't fit very well in the bowl so it's difficult to get the right amount of heat. If we used smaller coals it'd probably be better. What we have found though is that you can't pack this bowl tight, the hashish needs to be loosely place in to provide a good amount of air diffusion. Consequently this makes it burn through the hashish really quickly so you can't use as many coals on it. It's not really a big deal for us though, so that's the only reason keeping this from a 5 star.

Definitely get one of these if you plan to smoke hookah even occasionally, at first I didn’t think it would be worth it, but after using it, it makes it SO much easier to move the coals at one time, pack the right amount of tobacco, and just rinse off the top part with water and it’s ready to use again. No more foil and the coals are secure and can’t fall off the top anymore either. 1000% get this.
