Review: Don’t Hesitate... Buy One .. Love Mine ! - I can’t believe I didn’t take a picture ! Next time ! I made my first Tagine tonight. This Tagine was great . I may have added s little too much water but the sauce reduced perfectly. The only problem was the lid did not fit perfectly so a little water was “ spitting “ out of the side . When I reduced the heat it stopped and will not add so much liquid next time . The chicken was incredibly tender and the flavors were awesome. The potatoes and carrots cooked quickly. I used chicken thighs for my first Tagine and I will be making a lamb Tagine next . I ordered Ras Al Harnout spice on line but wasn’t exactly the mix I wanted . I lived in Morocco so I have some spices coming. I This is an awesome piece of cookware for the price ! I would not hesitate to buy it !

Making naan in the lid is easy too - you just have to cook it without the bottom part. Update 2 years later: This is still working great! Love this pot! I've been able to reduce the pots in my kitchen as I can also make sukiyaki or shabu-shabu in it as well. And I haven't had to season it yet. Just get a cast iron brush and do a gentle scrubbing when it's still warm, give it a good rinse and a good dry and it's good as new.

**Q: Is the bottom black part enameled?**
A: If you get the all black one it's all cast iron. The other colors are half cast iron and half enameled.

**Q: Lead free?**
A: The tagines that advertise as "lead-free" are the ceramic variety. Outside of developed countries there are few or no regulations on lead use and the pottery glazes used in much of the undeveloped world do contain lead. Cast iron tagines, typically with an enamel finish, are, by their nature, lead-free.

**Q: Can this tagine be used with induction cooktop?**
A: I have the same type of cooktop.  It's fine.  The only thing I can say is that you should be careful not to scratch the glass,but otherwise, it's great.... Good quality and very nice looking

**Q: Will this give the same outcome for tandoori chicken in a clay oven**
A: No. This is a slow cooker. It is closed and the funnel-shaped lid captures the steam vapor and drips the liquid back onto the food. Tandoori ovens are open and are more like roasting on an open flame.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter. She loves it! Good quality Tagine. Just the right size! Great that it is microwave , freezer and dishwasher safe too. Plus an extra bonus that it can be used on the BBQ. Good size as you can easily fit a medium sized chicken. Seemed to work very well. Looks nice as well. Easy to clean. Beautiful colour so much nicer than my old terracotta one. All in all a fantastic purchase!
