I think it contains more than a beginner needs but has everything for a growing artist who will eventually use more tools as they expand their work and needs. I wish a shaver was included. The only downside is the clear plastic case because it's too small to carry the whole kit in a realistic setting. Sure, it all fits from the manufacturer, but once it gets unpacked and used, it becomes an impossible game of Tetris that is unrealistic.
