It has never smelled fishy, and none of my kids have ever complained about the taste. They all seemed to really like these gummies. However, I noticed that it's become impossible to find these in brick & mortar stores; it's almost as if these have been discontinued. I was excited to see them available on Amazon, so I ordered 2 bottles. But when I opened one, the smell of fish was overwhelming. I didn't even want to try opening the second bottle, I just returned them both. I don't know if the formulation has changed, or if it's a question of these bottles being stored improperly before being shipped. (Note: Nordic Naturals has fish-oil capsules w/a higher amounts of DHA+EPA, but your kids will need to like those vitamin E-like capsules.
