Initial review...finally!
Done messing with Whistler. Check out my set up in the Customer Images section above. Installation went well. I had to mount it vertically because of space limitations.INITIAL THOUGHTS:- It is big, heavy, and built strong- Amazon 2-day shipping is great. Double boxed. No issues.- Binding posts are larger and use a standard 1/2" nut...nice!- Very small chassis grounding post- No cables, but no biggie. I am using 0-gauge to my six-pack battery bank- Inverter turned right on after install.- Running two fridges simultaneously w/o any issues- Measured VAC output (with my true RMS Fluke meter) at 125v. The Whistler only had 115v.- No USB portOVERALL- Initial run up looks very promising. I will put some heavy loads on it later on and in a few months update this review.UPDATE (28 June 2014)- Well, one month+ in and this inverter still performs perfectly 24/7. I have run it up to 2KW and it ran strong...not even a hiccup/fart/burp. The single cooling fan only comes on occasionally. Inside my Oklahoma garage...it is getting up near 95-99 deg...but it doesn't seem to phase this inverter. One note: when the solar charge controller has charged my battery bank and the voltage gets above 13.8vDC, the inverter will hum and buzz a little more (nothing wrong with it tho). Neighbors and friends who come over are impressed. In fact, I bought a 100' heavy duty extension cord to run power to my neighbors house in case we lose power. Gosh I'm a nice guy. Grounded this unit NOT using the little grounding lug terminal...used the inverter's (neg) binding post straight to my sunken ground rod...SCC, inverter, batteries, are now all looped to true negative ground (works really well). It does produce a little RFI I can hear over my CB base station.UPDATE (20 Oct 2014)- Still running perfectly! When the battery bank is at full charge and in "float" mode (around 14.5v DC), this inverter will buzz a little bit when there is a load. Not an issue...all inverters do this. At night (no solar charging going on) the voltage goes down to 12.3-12.6v DC and there is no buzz when the fridges kick on. Again, no concern at all. This inverter is an absolute beast! Still produces RFI on some CB channels on my base station. On Channel 19 (truckers channel) it is okay...minimal or no interference. Other channels get completely washed out from this inverter. Turn this inverter off (and the solar charge controller) and my CB base station is crystal clear. Counteracting the RFI is too hit or miss and requires a PhD in electrical engineering to figure out.UPDATE (13 Nov 2014)- Been running 24/7 since May (almost 7 months). No problems whatsoever. Great inverter! Really great!UPDATE (22 FEB 2015)- Okay...nothing wrong with the inverter...still running strong. However, I have been looking at rewiring my battery bank to 24v. So, this inverter won't work. Reason why: my solar charging station will run more efficient with a 24v system. The max wattage I have ever pushed through the Power Bright is under 1800 watts. So, going with a 24v inverter (pure sine wave this time). Looking at a 2,000 watt unit from Go Power (GP-SW2000-24). It will fit on my panel. The 3,000 watt unit is about $1,000 whereas the 2,000 watt one is around $750. Not cheap.

Professionals Use Power Bright - With Confidence~!!!
I install solar systems on my boathouses both to be safer than shore power systems, and to give my customers 100% guarantee that they will never need to ever pay an electricity bill on their large custom boathouses. Some of these boathouses are like small homes with full kitchens and entertainment systems.Using solar/battery/inverter powered electrical systems cuts the electrocution problem down by a HUGE percentage, because there is no earth ground, and the water cannot complete the circuit. It is a closed circular power system, so no electrocution hazard exists except in rare cases where someone gets in between the inverter leads... which is almost impossible unless you are trying to. With a full GFCI system the safety factor is huge compared to earth grounded shore power systems where the water is your ground. That can easily kill when systems grow older and a single bare wire can accidentally come into contact with something that hits the water... like a boat lift with an overhead cable....Our boathouses are incredibly safe as a result. They usually have one, two, or three 6,500# 1HP overhead boat lifts. We install this inverter with three 90AH batteries in parallel 12VDC to 120VAC and so far - the oldest installation is about 7 months old now - every boathouse is working perfectly. I know we will have to install full sine wave versions for some of our boathouses that have microwaves, TV's and stereo systems, but so far the lifts are the main drain on each system. This inverter is so far proved to be an excellent work horse using them as professional installs. The battery bank is charged via a Renogy (2) 100 watt mono-crystalline solar panel kit, and their included 30amp charge controller. Perfect so far, even with a week without sun, and heavy rain. The panels measure 21.8v on cloudy days~! So the batteries stay charged easily providing safe constant power when needed. As time goes on I will keep reporting, but so far the 3,500 watt and the 6,000 watt inverters by Power Bright seem to be bullet-proof. The 6,000 watt install has three lifts on it and 18 light fixtures, and 5 duplex outlets where they use fillet knives, power tools, an air compressor, and a lakewater sprinkler system~! If that doesn't impress you, what will. The best thing about buying this system from Power Bright, is that they have a full customer support here in the USA~! They are easy to work with and give advice on anything I need to ask about. That alone puts them far ahead of any of the other suppliers that are either in China or out of the US, and nobody responds to any concerns. This is the right choice~! Buy with confidence.Sincerely,Dave ThomsonShoretech Marine Consulting LLCLake Livingston, Texas

perfect in a big truck (semi truck)!
Works great in our big truck, 2012 international prostar. The only problem we had was needing a better grounding wire due to some interference with the CB. It runs a 4.5 cu ft refrigerator and freezer, microwave, coffee pot, laptop, and the 1250 christmas lights we have on the truck and never hit its peak. We've had it installed under the bunk in the truck for 3 months without any problems. We do turn it off when the truck isn't running so we don't drain the battery. But while the truck is on, either driving down the road or idling, I can cook with both the microwave and crockpot at the same time and never have a problem. We are gonna try adding a hotplate or similar soon, but I don't anticipate any problems. Even with the fridge, lights, and microwave all going we never even peak 1000watts. So happy with this inverter!

Bad feed back noise in vehicle stereo speakers
I installed this unit in my truck. It's probably because it's a modified wave but this inverter made a bad noise through the stereo speakers.

works great have it hooked up in my truck for parades ...
dang!!!! works great have it hooked up in my truck for parades and for when i have trackdays i put it on my car trailer. this thing pushes out plenty of power for my needs. i have only gotten the thing up to 200watts used. great product

Nice Product!
What a great unit. So far, has met my power needs. Installed in a 2006 F350 under the rear seat. Fits neatly, tucked away. Has a remote to turn on/off if out of reach. I haven't tried any heavy power consumption tools yet, just laptops and ipads, etc. It is quiet, and gets me the electricity I need. Only been using it for about 2 weeks now. Will update after more use.The only thing that would make this 5 stars is if it had USB plugs, not just the 4 standard sockets provided.
