When it was all ready, it didn't work. I trouble shot the potentiometer to see if I have damaged it, and, no, it was performing both the on-off switching and variable resistance with rotation as expected. I had the power leads and motor leads connected as indicated on the controller. The motor armature showed .4 ohms resistance while the current meter in the armature circuit failed to indicated any current. My batteries are good.
