I was thinking of getting a Zojirushi that was priced almost double for half the size but ended up buying this Cuckoo when I came to know the Zoji is priced like a Japanese made cooker and made elsewhere to profit. My sister has a Japanese Zoji that she bought from Japan. This particular model of Cuckoo that I got is made in Korea and priced well for the size and features it offers. From my short 15 days of experience with this cooker I found it to be very functional. The cooker is easy to use and the rice comes out nice every single time. Different types of rice takes different cooking times obviously and it also depends on how well you want the rice to be cooked. So far I tried white rice, and brown rice. And made porridge with brown rice. All came out well. I cooked brown rice for an additional 5 minutes to suit my needs but many people might not need it. As people from different cultures use different types of rice and their exists lots of varieties in Asian stores (I have seen rices that I have never heard of) I can’t confirm the exact cooking time. In general brown rice takes longer. I don’t like the idea of having an internal battery that is not easy to replace . Overall a great addition to my kitchen during this holiday season.
