I am quite pleased with my purchase
There is barely any information available for this monitor on the internet, and as a result, I was hesitant to purchase it. It seemed to have all the features I was looking for, though, so I took the plunge and ordered one. Let me tell you, I am quite pleased with my purchase. Also, my true rating for this monitor would be 4.5 stars, but that isn't an option on Amazon, so I had to go with 4 stars.Pros:1. Gorgeous, vibrant colors after toying around with the settings. The out of the box settings are somewhat lacking, but this is easily fixed by adjusting "Digital Vibrance" in the NVIDIA control panel if you are using an NVIDIA graphics card, as well as using the monitor's built in "Scenery Mode".2. 23.8 inch screen length provides a nice amount of workspace.3. Faster than usual response time for an IPS monitor at 5ms, making it a suitable contender for a gaming monitor, if you are not looking for 144hz.4. Has built in speakers (The sound quality of built in speakers on a monitor is, of course, low tier, but this may be a nice boon for those who are unable to afford speakers at the time of purchase). If you wish to use the built-in speakers, you may have to go to the control panel, then go to the "Sound" section, and then set the monitor as the default audio device.Cons:1. Monitor can be somewhat wobbly. This is mostly only noticeable when adjusting the monitor's position, or when pressing it's buttons. It doesn't really wobble during conventional usage.2. The product name has "DVI-D" listed in it, but the monitor does not actually have a DVI-D port. It only has VGA, DisplayPort, and HDMI ports. I purchased it expecting to be able to use a DVI-D cable with it, but was not able to. Thankfully, my graphics card supported HDMI, so I was able to excuse that.3. The monitor's height cannot be adjusted. It can only be tilted forward and backward in order to change the viewing angle.4. Has a slight bit of IPS glow. This is only really noticeable when watching a movie, or when in a dark location in a game. Know, however, that it is not significant enough (in my opinion) to hamper a movie watching / gaming experience.

Like many other reviewers have said
Like many other reviewers have said, the IPS panel in this monitor produces better colors, black levels, and a uniform picture when compared to other similarly priced monitors. I noticed very little (if any) light bleed from the sides or corners. I'm extremely picky about that stuff. The build quality of the monitor itself is very good and feels sturdy, with sufficient input ports on the back. You'll either love or hate the flap that is non-removable on the back of the monitor, which covers the ports. It gives the back a clean appearance, but can be cumbersome to lift repeatedly when you have to insert or remove cables. Overall it's not a big deal for most though. Now, for the reason I've given this monitor a three star review. Asus' quality of control. The monitor I received was brand new directly from Amazon, however, the panel had a clump of around five dead pixels all bunched up together in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. They were all black/purple and also caused some weird lighting effect around the surrounding pixels. I know there's always bound to be a lemon in the bunch with any electronics device you buy, but when it happens more than two times in a row.. that's just bad quality control. It seems that across many different brands, manufacturers (whether it's LG or Samsung based panels) aren't producing quality panels like they used to for monitors. This was my THIRD monitor to have bad pixels in a row. My first was an Acer IPS which on the 15th day of having it developed over three dead pixels scattered around the screen. That one was purchased from Micro Center and was luckily still within the return period. The second was another Acer, but a 27 inch with a VA panel. This one was purchased at Best Buy. While an excellent screen for movies and watching media based content, it also possessed dead pixels. All were white. I also noticed that compared to an IPS panel, the VA panel seemed a bit fuzzy and wasn't as sharp up close. And lastly was this Asus, from Amazon. I would have liked to try reordering another one from Amazon, but so much time had already been drained in trying the other monitors first that I ended up needing one as soon as possible by that point. Once I returned it to Amazon, I found a steal at Staples out of all places. I decided to try my luck a third time with Acer, purchasing a 27 inch IPS monitor for $120. The price went up to $240 the day after I purchased. So far the monitor hasn't given me issues, but time will tell if it does.

It's a great monitor but i was expecting more of a leap in tech
Monitor Works great, unfortunately the sound is God Aweful btw to the point one must ask themselves Why they even included built in sound, external speakers or headset are a must.Unfortunately i dont think this monitor quite had what i was looking for, a more clean crisp bright display more similar to Led or late-age LCD Tvs offered. For the most part this is a suped up plasma screen monitor from the early 00's. infact the screen material itself is made form the exact same material my HP 2004 monitor was. That being stated, i must still give this a solid 4. Its extremely durable and well built, no dead pixels in my time of use, no noticeable ghosting, and high refresh rate.Let's be honest this was a really well made budget Monitor for the time i got it tho. This is no cutting edge 2000$ OLED unlimited refresh godteir margarita dispensing foot massaging bank breaker. If your looking for a cheap, or just a second backup, or workhorse monitor. This is a good bet.

Its a good Monitor
It is a beautiful monitor, the picture is amazing. The sound is good (when we do use it) My only issue which is why I did not give it 5 stars is the power cable. If you bump the cord or readjust where the monitor sits on the desk even by a centimeter it shuts off. We had this same issue when we bought our first monitor for the desktop but it went away over time. It is still a really good monitor you just may feel a sense of frustration for a month or so if you encounter the same issue. We would have traded it in if it is considered an issue but we use it for streaming, I am a full time streamer, so it is important I have the second monitor for providing my best content possible. Asus is a really amazing brand overall, if picture quality is what you are after, this is it.
