Too early to tell
DALSTRONG sent me an email today, pleading for me to write a review. So okay, I've had the DALSTRONG Ceramic Knives Set - Spectral Blades - V3 Convex Edge for 24 hours now. Here's my review. The DALSTRONG Ceramic Knives Set - Spectral Blades - V3 Convex Edge arrived on time. They were packed in a very nice box, encased in a tight-fitting cardboard sleeve, cushioned in foam. In addition to a lot of full-color brochures about the knives they added a very pretty keychain. I will certainly use the keychain."But what about the knives?" you're asking. The knives are very pretty. The blades are black and the handles are colored plastic. Very pretty colors, too. I used one of the knives to cut a tomato. It did a good job. As good as any other new knife I've purchased. It is light and easy to hold. Other than that I haven't had a chance to use the knives and evaluate their performance as, well, knives.I hope the knives do a good job. I want all the products I buy to work well and justify their price. However it's too early to tell about these knives. When I've had a chance to actually use them, see how they perform, and determine how they hold up over time, I'll update this review.Send me another email in about 6 months, DALSTRONG..

Functional and attractive knives backed by a company that cares about the consumer
This is the second product I purchased from Dalstrong. The packaging is effective and attractive. Truly making this "gift worthy" but in our case...purchased just for ourselves. This is my first set of ceramic knives so my comments may be obvious to others already familiar with ceramic. The knives themselves are very lightweight. However, they still manage to feel substantial in the hand while in use. The handles are easy to grip and the material remains grip-able even if slightly wet. No chance of slipping while in use. The colored handles are a bonus....allowing you to know what blade you're about to pull. The fact that the protective blade covers match the handle color is another example to detail that Dalstrong takes. They could have easily just used a black cover for all their blades. Yes, I know aesthetics aren't the main purpose of a knife but Dalstrong makes a wonderful impression that way.The knives themselves cut very, very well. I was surprised in how much easier they cut through than our existing steel blades (J.A. Henckels). We sharpen but it appears that either the frequency of sharping (or the sharping equipment) needs to change. :-)Being my first set of ceramic knives I reached out to Dalstrong support and they responded in less than 24 hours. My first concern was while I know the blades are sharp....they are not as flexible as steel and was concerned to their sensitivity in storage. In particular, could I remove the blade covers and store in our butcher block wood knife holder. They assured me that storing them this way was perfecting fine just making sure that you pull the blade out as straight as possible to avoid putting tension on it.So overall I am very satisfied with how the product looks, performs and the response from customer support. I was so pleased with them that I ordered their Barracuda "bread knife" as well as their steak knifes.

Nice knives
We have only used two of these knives so far, and they cut wonderfully. The first ceramic knife we purchased was all ceramic and when it fell on our ceramic tile floor it shattered. These knives made no me ti on of being metal based, which was one reason I ordered them, but they are indeed metal based. I discovered this by sticking a magnet to one. I suppose on the good side it won't shatter if dropped, but my concern is will the ceramic chip off.

High-value Low-price.
My wife and I live in an RV and so we are always concerned with weight. We've purchased other ceramic knives that were much more expensive and perform nearly as well. Most feel flimsy and several of the other brands don't come with sheathes. The Dalstrong knife set is light, sturdy, sharp, and come with protective sheathws. My wife loves the colorful handles and sheathes. We also eat a lot of vegetables so having a knife that won't brown the food is important. They stay sharp for a long time and clean up easily. These are a welcome collection to our kitchen.

Disappointed!
I'm really disappointed. Three knives have broken just because I dropped them (all on separate occasions--it happens, we drop things) and within the 2 years that I've owned them. They're just OKAY for cutting, can't say they're great for all items (even cutting a flower stem or a baguette is difficult with the largest knife)--but the breaking is really disappointing. Yesterday I dropped the red knife (largest) and it broke inside the handle and just detached. That's 3 knives lost within 2 years of owning the set. Not satisfactory at all. I know the price seems right, but of the set of 4, I'm left with 1 medium sized knife.

I LIKE 'EM !!
I have been looking for ceramic kitchen knives for a long time but have not been able to see any in the stores that I wanted to invest in. I have a collection of pocket knives and one of then had a ceramic blade so I was aware of the pluses and minuses of ceramic over steel. My experience with your knives has been nothing but good so far. I have trimmed and chopped and sliced many and assorted steaks, vegetables and roasts and have not been disappointed in the least.I would recommend these knives to anyone and have actually already told my daughters and one of my fellow workmates how happy I am with them, recommending that they should purchase them too.My next purchase will probably be some of your steel knives so as to round out my kitchen array of SHARP and attractive knives.

These things are awesome. The set is perfect for all kinds of things with their different sizes. I have been using them every day for the last few months and they are still working perfectly. They fit really well in the hand and have a good balance. They are super sharp and have no trouble with all different kinds of food. The large knife works well for the bigger items. I only wish I had an additional knife that was about 2" longer. At that point this set would be all that I would need for a lifetime.
