I use the laptop for a legacy application, so I wanted to save the system if possible. This was an amazingly cost-effective solution and all worked well for me.When my old winXP laptop turned up with an error at boot, I burned a CD with an Slitaz iso to make sure the system was worth putting money into. (At 35mb Slitaz loads very quickly on older XP systems.) After finding that the OS would load and all systems resources on the laptop worked, I decided to purchase this drive since new drives cost MUCH more. This was an easy install. Burned a fresh (old) copy of winXP, and restored the laptop to factory specs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As you know IDE is Legacy *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2018* I was rebuilding an old laptop computer that needed a new IDE HHD. I felt that for this slow and small a HHD this was costly. However I couldn't find any cheaper and I needed this. This computer never really worked well so I cannot say how well this drive worked. I don't believe there was anything wrong with the drive and I am sure these legacy drives may be getting harder to find, thus the great cost. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very satisfied!. Just replace an old hard disk of 40G with this one, and the old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (14 years old) run as new. By the way, I have 4 HP that cannot run smooth and with this quality of display. What a shame for HP (What's up with you guys?) and also for Dell because they are not supporting drivers for this incredible laptop anymore!
