Bring the Heat!
If you have a not start/no cool situation, I suggest checking this first. Here in TX I always recommend having one of these on hand as a backup as the ALWAYS fail at the worst time. The trick is making sure you have the right one as there are many different types that look the same. I recommend pulling the cover on your Evaporator and snapping a shot of the spec for your specific unit. If you have the AC company come out you looking at $175-$250 for the service and replacement, so for $25.00 this is a no brainer. We realized our had failed when we got back to a hot house after 2 weeks of vacation. I had already changed the Capacitor in the other unit last year so suspected the capacitor had failed and swapped it out in 15 min. Solved the problem and coolness was restored! (ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF THE POWER TO YOUR UNIT AT THE BREAKER BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIR) If you look at the capacitor in your unit and the top of the capacitor is ballooned at all change it our, this is a easy sight to know you cap is failing or failed. Hope this helps! Highly recommended!!

Just what we needed!
I bought this after my outdoor unit stopped spinning on its own and I got no cool air inside. I opened the service panel on the outdoor unit and noticed that the previous capacitor was corroded and expanded. I bought this and installed it in a few minutes. (Turn off the power to the unit before replacing). Once it was installed and I turned the air conditioning back on, boom, worked. Perfect. It saved me hundreds of dollars.

Perfect!
I have always been told to check the "capacitor" before calling the air conditioning technician. Yep, it was the capacitor that was bad because it was bulging out. Once it was replaced, the air conditioner worked like a charm. Just make sure all the electrical items are disconnected and turned off at the circuit breaker.

Worked Great on my Trane AC
My capacitor blew on my Trane AC. This was the exact part that it came with so switch out was easy. AC guy wanted $250 to do this job that took me about 10 minutes including cleaning the coil with hose.

Work perfectly and easy to install.
I found the capacitor was popped up which prevent powering the compressor. Brought this capacitor to match the same size of the old one, and replaced it easy.
