**Q: Is the teal colored box an option right now?**
A: Not sure if the teal colored box is still an option right now, but mine is that color.  It’s a very soft powdery teal color. At the time I placed my order, the smaller box was the teal color. Btw it is very sturdy.

FYI... The box with more pie weights looked to me to be rather a powdery light peach-adobe brown color.

**Q: Are there enough weights to hold up the sides of the pie crust?**
A: In a large diameter pie plate/tin (9") on the bottom, the balls go halfway up the sides when placed in a single flat layer.  They go up further on a 7" or 8" bottom diameter pie plate/tin, but there aren't so many balls that you completely fill the volume of the crust.  You have to stack the balls up on the sides, or put the balls on foil in the bottom.  It seems that even if you had a full volume of balls, it would be too much weight on the crust.

**Q: How many do you need for 2 pies?**
A: If you bake at the same time 2 packages of pie weights.

**Q: What does the white tab do on the lid?**
A: The round white circle on the lid is soft plastic that can be removed, but I think it's just decorative. It's hard to reinsert it so I don't think it covers a vent hole.

These are well made, easy to clean, they seem sturdy; and they come in a little plastic "tin box" that is attractive and functional as a storage container which is easy to stack and identify in the cabinet - the plastic storage box is a great selling point in itself! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ More use than just pies!

We love Sous vide is a French cooking technique where food is placed in a sealed bag and cooked in a temperature-controlled water bath a French cooking technique where food is placed in a sealed bag and cooked in a temperature-controlled water bath (see picture), we cook everything from fish, steaks, vegetables, etc. Why we love it is that it's a gentle cook, and always perfect. For example a steak cooks at 131 degree's for 1 to 5 hours, and it's doesn't matter as the steak cooks in it's own juices (and does not lose any), and can't overcook, like it can on a stove. So why am I rating pie weights and not talking about pies? Yes we have used them on pies and work very well, but wanted to let you know about another great use of them for Sous vide. In the picture you can see we shrink wrapped the "pea sized weights", and we just use them to hold down every thing we Sous Vide. Works great! Hope this help you to think beyond pies!
