Owned for over a year. Great sounding, nice looking, rugged, portable, waterproof speaker. Recommended!
This is a great little bluetooth speaker. I've been using it now for a little over a year and so far, I've had no issues. Sound quality is great, it's got a nice volume, and the form factor is very easy to transport. I can toss it into my backpack, bring it to the park, etc., no problem. Battery life is very formidable - I feel like I only have to charge it once in a while, even a year later.I regularly use it in my shower, and have tested the claims of waterproofing by dropping it into a full sink and it was perfectly fine. One thing to note though - IT DOES NOT FLOAT. So if you bring it boating, make sure you utilize the latch on the bottom and rope it in somewhere. I would imagine if it gets deep enough into the water, the seals that keep it waterproof will probably fail and you'll be out of luck.PROS:- Sound quality is great (not amazing - this isn't a Sennheiser, so keep your expectations reasonable, but for what it is I love it)- Rugged build quality & waterproofing- Easy to use- Form factor - it's really nice looking and easily portableCONS:- If I'm looking for a con, I guess I would say the app could be a bit better, but you don't really need to use it- It doesn't float

I LOVE this speaker. Used mostly with my iPhone 6s.
I really love this speaker. It can get real loud and music sounds good from it. The pairing is probably the EASIEST I have ever experienced. It synced in seconds and maintains the connection beautifully. I LOVE that it's waterproof so I can listen to it in the shower without worrying about it. It's a lot smaller than I expected which is awesome. Super small with super big sound. It doesn't maintain any kind of connection remotely close to 100 FT but companies make false Bluetooth range claims all the time. It's closer to 30 FT which is good enough for my purposes in most situations I'm in. I bought the gorgeous Yeti color and my only complaint in this is with the god awfully ugly yellow charger cable and plug. I appreciate the tangle free design but the yellow color is hideous and clashes horribly with the white unit. I wish they had gone with a white or black color and I'd have preferred the normal, round cable design instead of the flat design but it's the color that's horrid. I keep the cable out of sight. Other than that, this speaker is a must MUST have. Although I usually use it with my iPhone 6s, I've also began using it in place of my Macbook Pros built in speaker. After using the UE Boom, I realized how tinny my Macbook Pro built in speakers are in comparison.

Great Rugged Speaker
Awesome speaker, super rugged and love that it's waterproof. The UE Roll is possibly better value depending what you're looking for. I highly recommend adding a small carabiner to the bottom ring so that you can hang it easily from things, like the UE Roll (A carabiner should really be included)ProsSuper loud for its size, great sound, easy connect, nice app, really long battery, rugged, waterproof. If you want a speaker for outdoor activities, and that you don't have to baby, this is it!Negatives (overall great, but here are a few areas for improvement)-Wish there was a dedicated next/play button. The tapping feature is very unreliable.-I love using it for phone calls, e.g. cooking in the kitchen and being able to talk to the person like they are there, but, the unit is giving lots of echo for the person on the other end, very annoying for them. The same thing happens with some bluetooth headphones, but not others. No serious help been given from UE.-Very hard to pair it with a UE Roll, since they each have their own apps - I imagine pairing it with another UE Boom 2 is easier, so this is a weird specific use case.

WOW, Sound, Battery Life, and Blue Tooth Range for the win!!
This review is based on direct comparison of various, portable, blue tooth speakers. I had a Bose, a Mini Jambox, a Ministry of Sound, and this UE Boom 2.I've always loved my trusty little Jambox, but it was out of the race fast due to complete inadequacy in volume against the others. Great sound, super battery life, but rather quiet.Ministry of Sound: short battery life (only about 4 hours of playback), tons of "skipping" or cutting out, which made for a terrible listening experience, and all tones were very "muddy" rather than, crisp, clear, layers of sound. The Bose sound is good in range, but very "flat." It has slightly more bass range than the UE Boom 2, but does not reach the same level in layered, rich sound that fills the room.Hands down, the UE Boom 2 won in all sound comparison. At any volume level, even top volume, the sound was rich, distinctive, layered, and completely fills my entire house. On top of that, it has a superb playback time of 15 hours on a charge. Most impressive feature of all is that this little device magically exceeds all others in Blue Tooth range!! Most devices have a standard range of 30 feet, although in reality it seems like even 15 feet makes most Blue Tooth devices start to complain. Walls or obstacles make it much worse. With the UE Boom 2, I could take my phone to the farthest reaches of my home, behind walls and closed doors, and not lose ANY connectivity, with no disruption to playback and sound whatsoever. It's unheard of and I really had to see it to believe it!!Pricewise, this speaker is a comfortable mid-range for what is available. I was looking at options ranging from around $100 to over $350. For all the performance stated above, $145-198 is really reasonable for this device.

Very happy with this!
I'm not an audiophile. Now that that's out of the way, I really like this speaker. Battery life is great... only charged it twice in a few months. We use it more on the light side so far... bought it mostly for next pool season. The end of this pool season was great. Easily cranked out enough good sound outside. It seemed like well rounded sound to me as well. The app does let you control some aspects. The speaker itself is well built, fit and finish look great. Nice weight to it. Super easy to pair and customize. Like the idea we could buy another and have it paired to the same signal... maybe next summer.
