Skar Audio SK8M 8" 2-Way Marine Full Range 500 Watt Coaxial Speakers, Pair (White)

I purchased 4 of these speakers based off of reviews. I hooked these up directly to a Boss MGR450B head unit and they sound amazing. The bass is deep and the highs and mids fill the boat also. I could not be happier with the purchase. I could only imagine how great they would sound with a Skar Audio amp! I am thinking of purchasing four of the 6.5" speakers and the Skar RP-75.4ABM amp to complete my setup.

Best speaker at this price no doubt about it, totally changed the game in the audio department for my boat. They sound amazing. I installed with a scar audio amplifier.

Sounds great! When cutting hole for mount, i used a 1 inch hole bit on my drill, then 24 tpi blade on a jigsaw. Buy the 5 pack of blades because if you break a blade rounding, you’ll save the trip to homedepot. Go slow and cut slightly bigger than the stencil provided.

Clear sound

I did a set of 8" and a set of 6.5". I expected to cut fiberglass for the 8", but didn't expect to cut for the 6.5". Used a dremel pen grinder to cut the fiberglass to size. 8" came with a nice rubber gasket, 6.5" came with a 3M rubber gasket. Not 100% sure why they would be different. Thankfully the previous speakers had large spade terminals.Sound wise, they are very good! With the bass set to 4 of 6, it shakes the boat seats lol. Definitely a very nice combination of speakers at a very good price. These blow away kicker, pioneer, and are a very close second to JL audio. Definitely recovered from a 4 star for the install troubles, to a 5+ star for audio quality. Certainly better than I ever expected!!Running off of the stock JBL factory radio and they sound amazing. Can't wait to convert the system over to my BT 1500w marine amp and get it fine tuned! It can only get better!!!Highly recommend to any buyer, but expect minor size difference and slight modifications needed for install. 100% worth it!

I've only had them for three or four months now, but I've used them several times and they sound fantastic.

Bought these for a rigid inflatable boat that I have to go along a roto molded cooler that doubles as a bench seat and small storage. After installing the speakers along the head unit and small digital amp I decided to give the rig a short test just to make sure everything was properly hooked up, it turned into a 4 hour listening session with my kids jumping into the pool just to enjoy the sounds. Around the 2 hour mark the mids and highs balanced nicely and opened up the speakers.First thing, these things can play LOUD without any distortion at full range if they're property powered, in my case they're powered @ 90 watts RMS at 4 ohms from a small digital amp (kenwood), I can't even crank them all the way since at 3/4 I know the whole neighborhood was listening to my playlist.The base is fast and tight and the mid to high separation is surprisingly good for an 8 inch speaker, I guess the coaxial design helps a lot in that sense.At this price range you will be hard pressed to find anything that holds a candle to these, when compared to more expensive brands out there you won't be able to tell the difference unless you're expecting B&W sound out on the water which is the exact opposite to a controlled listening environment.All and all I'm very happy with these and glad to see that there are still companies that still put out products at very fair price points, just remember, powering these properly is key to getting the most out of them.
