When you get these, the pump handles are screwed into the down position to save space, and protect the valve stems. Unscrew the collars, as if you were going to fill the bottles, and hold onto that thicker piece of white plastic under the external collar. Now turn your nozzle counter clockwise and it will expand easily. Fill the bottle and insert the pump, and screw down the collar,.....no problem. My only complaint has been mentioned numerous times already, but I feel like mentioning it again in case possibly the manufacturer was to ever read these reviews. If you are a Chinese company that is going to market your products to the USA, Canada, etc,.......PLEASE take the time, and invest a few bucks to hire someone that can translate Chinese to English properly, and that also understands how US citizens communicate. You should do this for any and all 'sayings' you are going to imprint on a product, as well as any directions required for a product. There is NO excuse for the cheesy wording found on Chinese products and directions.

I purchased these bottles to use as they are labeled. I had purchased my shampoo and conditioner in quart-sized bottles and they didn't have pumps, were difficult to handle, and didn't fit well on the ledge in my tub. These are perfect. They work well, hold a nice amount, and fit in well with my bathroom/shower decor. The material is plastic, and it seems to be durable. We have used this product for about 4-6 months. No leakage, or sticking. It is used for my daughter’s shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. I like the labels too.
