Before attaching to the shed, I sprayed the front with DEFT Adhesion Promoter so it could later be painted. Pieces of Gorilla Tape covered the four corners until GOOP adhesive on the back had dried. The tape was then removed, and the perimeter sealed with DAP Dynaflex calk. Finally, I carefully painted over the vent and dried calk to match the shed. The plastic vent is stronger and much thicker than sheet metal, and the small slats keep most bugs out and add overall strength. **Q: How many square inches of net free area?** A: From the item photo, it is labeled "21 square inches", which seems like a plausible net free area amount given the overall roughly 10x10 inch outer dimensions. **Q: Is this made of metal or plastic** A: Plastic **Q: Does this allow wind to come through it into the building?** A: I wouldn't say wind, but air flow will come into the building.
