GLUture Topical Adhesive is an economical choice for your practice. Each 1.5 mL multi-use tube has 10 pipette applicators for precision placement at the wound site. Medical grade octyl/butyl cyanoacrylate blend bonds quickly. Applies purple and dries clear.

Very soft, flexible 60% 2-octyl and 40% N-butyl cyanoacrylate surgical glue in a cheap, single use tube.
SD McEachron's review is incorrect. This is not at all the same as over the counter CA adhesive (super glue). Over the counter super glue is Ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate, which is very hard and brittle, peels easily and can burn in a very unpleasant way when applied to skin.GLUture topical tissue adhesive is a 60% 2-octyl and 40% N-butyl cyanoacrylate. These are both much softer and more flexible adhesives, and have better resistance to water after they are cured, at least in my experience. I have used all three types on myself for more than 20 years.GLUture is softer and more flexible when cured than VetBond, which is straight N-butyl cyanoacrylate, but it is much thicker out of the tube, and takes much longer to cure. This is important if you cannot approximate the skin edges before applying the adhesive. The GLUture adhesive is thick enough and slow enough that if you are very careful it can be applied to the skin before closing the wound. The reason for only 4 stars is that the GLUture adhesive comes in a small metal tube, which does not stand up at all, and should probably be considered a single use product, due to difficulty in storing any remaining product. The VetBond (N-butyl) adhesive comes in a free-standing bottle with a larger, more easily cleared tip. I have used a single VetBond bottle more than a dozen times (keeping it upright, tip clear). However, the VetBond (N-butyl) adhesive is an extremely thin, "wicking" grade adhesive, and usually cures in 5 seconds or less. For it to work at all, you must have the skin edges aligned FIRST and held in place with a strip.

Not sterile - Veterinary Use Glue
Clearly I'm in the minority with not liking this - but I doubt I will even attempt to use it. I have two major problems.1. This is a veterinary glue. It says absolutely nothing in the description (as of the time of posting this) to indicate this is meant for veterinary usage. It's twice as expensive as the VetBond, so I figured it was a human counterpart. The description also refers to it as "medical grade" which screams human (veterinary grade would indicate this). On closer inspection, apparently it's in the pet supplies category, but this is the ONLY indicator that this isn't for humans. I don't tend to use veterinary products on myself or my daughter, so I'm not thrilled.2. The picture appears to be of a sealed package. It came in a ziplock baggie, so this is not sterile. If you decide to purchase this overpriced animal glue, make sure you sterilize everything yourself so you don't add infection to whatever wound you are trying to heal.

Abbott Gluture
It was advertised as topical skin glue....when it arrived...said for animal use only....I gave it to my vet. She was very appreciative

This is NOT crazy glue or super glue which is ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate
This is NOT crazy glue or super glue which is ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate. Do your research before you post falsehoods That could cause people to be harmed. Those are toxic, will burn, damage skin, and crack instead of bend, tearing skin in the process. Ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate is NOT legally used in the medical field. GLUture topical tissue adhesive is a 60% 2-octyl and 40% N-butyl cyanoacrylate. Both of these chemicals are approved for the medical field because they are non toxic, dry flexible enough to move with the skin, they won't crack, don't burn, and come off the skin without damaging it.Gluture is a top of the line product, for a very very reasonable price. Don't put crazy glue or super glue on your body people.

Not superglue. They perform differently.
I love this stuff, but it is a shame that medical adhesives are soooo dang expensive. And NO! This is not just superglue. They are related products, but not the same. Superglue dries hard, cracks, doesn't flex, and burns. 2-oxyl and N-butyl are different, I that they flex with the skin and stays slightly rubbery after application. 100% 2-Oxyl is like $50 an application and used by he medical industry. N-butyl or a blend of the two is used in the veterinary industry and is usually a little cheaper. But they perform the same. The only significant difference is the N-butyl still burns just a little, while 2-Oxyl doesn't burn at all.
