I had to remove the tape in order to open the tin. **Q: Are these different than paperclips in that they point to a specific line?** A: Yes they can point to a specific line. They are smaller than a regular size paper clip. I’m using them to check references in a manuscript. Hope this helps. **Q: Do they have crosses on them?** A: Levenger (brand) have crosses on them. This product does NOT. I might add that Levenger's are made by CCP and Book Darts are made in USA. **Q: Can these be used to clip just two pages of standard-thickness paper together?** A: They can hold 2 pages of a book.
