Really good book!
Darcy’s rich godmother left everything to her three godchildren after she passed away. The condition was each had to be married within the year to receive the inheritance. Darcy was living in her childhood home that had been in her family 400 years. It was crumbling around her. She promised her father before he passed away she would take care of it. She needed that money and would marry the hunchback of Notre Dame himself to meet the conditions and stipulations of the will in order to collect. Darcy paid for a ad in a newspaper requesting help and short- term live-in employment. Luca and Darcy had spent one magical night together many years before. After that night, Luca thought Darcy had stolen from him. He had been looking for her ever since. He applied for the job in disguise. Darcy had no idea what she was getting into. The chemistry between the two were steamy, and the fight could get heated. I really liked Luca. You could tell he really liked Darcy. The book has an air of revenge, but it’s so much more than that. Luca fell hard for Darcy when they first met, and in 3 years could not stop thinking about that one night. This was a fun book to read.

A Romance Junkie
The Vengeful husband: This book was amazing!! It grabs you from the first pages and it does not let you go. I read this book in one afternoon just chilling by the pool. All the time I wanted to reach the end and at the same time didn't want this book to end. Luca was twenty-eight years old, drop dead gorgeous, and mega rich when Darcy crashed his party. Darcy only saw the beautiful man as well as she could see because she was blind as a bat, not wearing her lenses and stone on medication. So, high as a kite and free as a bird she practically raped the poor man. Not that Luca was complaining or anything, he fell so hard for her that he left his party and took her to his apartment. There the pages were burning up with these two people. Luca told Darcy that he would meet her at the Grand Canal the following day but when she woke up the following morning with a stranger and her now sober conscience she did what we all would do- jump out the window? I couldn't stop laughing. When Luca woke up and Darcy was gone as well as a priceless family heirloom ring "Adorata" he flipped out and knew he would track her down and make her pay. Three years later he tracks her down to a broken down estate where she's placed a listing in the paper requesting a helper for hire. The helper she needs is actually a husband so she can inherit her money and repair her broken down estate. Luca turns up and applies for the job and even accepts the job after she tells him what she really wants.I don't want to tell you anymore of the story because it's great and I don't want to ruin it for you. I give it five stars because it's perfect. It comes complete with a wicked stepmother and step sister. Oh and did I tell you that Darcy had a baby?? Every lose end is tied up very nicely and I recommend this book highly.

Unmasked
Great read. Luca should have been more diligent in uncovering the real culprit of the theft of his family heirloom. I think Darcy should have told him he was a father as soon as she recognized him. The stepmother and her daughter were awful. I thought it was interesting that Darcy remained friendly with Richard.

Loved this Hero
This was my first Lynne Graham book, and I really loved it. Great alpha male, who thought he was wronged and sought revenge, and boy is he an alpha, but without being a complete jerk about it. He also listens, and accepts when he is wrong. We did not have to wait until the very last pages for him to become more human. He was hard on her, but not cruely so, and when her horrible step-mother and even more horrible step-sister start cutting her down, he defends her instantly, even though he is mad at her. I really liked this story and will most certainly buy more of Lynne's works. She is an excellent writer and I am so excited to see how she has progressed through the yeas since this one was written in the 90's.

The Vengeful Husband
This is part of a three part series told by Lynne Graham. In this segment Darcy and Luca who had met three years earlier when she went to Italy to get over being left at the altar by Rob. They met at a ball given by Luca (Gianluca). She wore a mask and couldn't see without her glasses so she never actually saw him. She left him later that night. Now he wants revenge but not for her leaving but for the missing ring he thought she took. It seems that will be lost if someone does not confess to the crime. And what about her daughter that no one knows who the father is, not even her own mother. Enjoyed the story.

I could easily read this book again
What I loved about this book is that you could see early on in the story that the hero was in love with the heroine based on his actions. This couple also has great chemistry. I can definitely see why this book is still popular 20 years after it was originally released.

MEH (Some Spoilers Ahead)
Single mother Darcy inherited her father's manor house on his death, a home she loves but which is presently in dire need of money, due to her wicked stepmother and harpy of a stepsister. Refusing to sell, she has a chance to save her home due her godmother's will - if she can get a husband and stay married for 6 months she'll inherit enough money to relax, and she puts an ad into the paper.Certain that the woman he spent a hot night with 3 years ago stole a precious family heirloom Luca, Luca answers Darcy's ad, his intent anything but to help.It took forever for the truth to come out, especially about Luca being the father of Darcy's child, since the little girl looked so very much like him how could he be so oblivious? Plus how did no one around him do a double blink?I was hoping this would be like an episode of Dynasty or Dallas, both of which I enjoyed thanks to my mum, sadly this little read lacked the oomph/drama I was hoping for. Some eye rolling occurred. Not something I would re-read intentionally.99p on amazon.

You sure can tell it was written nearly 30 years ago
Same old semi abusive relationship complete with the male being turned on by being cruel to the female. He even liked the idea of her fighting him and him having to subdue her to have sex with her. Some bits were ok, but generally... Not great

Silly story but freaky entertaining
Absolutely silly story but very entertaining when you need some pure escapism. There are several potholes but since this is a mills and book you can blissfully ignore these and just have a bit of a break from reality.
