Blue Chip Medical Alternating Pressure Pad with Pump, Adjustable, Hospital Grade AIR PRO Elite

This thing is so comfortable, such a load off my mind. I'm disabled and I spend most of my time in bed, although I am not paralyzed. I have tried every type of mattress, from the most expensive to the cheapest and everything in between, and could never find one that supported me enough without having pressure points. This is a gentle moving air current that circulates and allows you to just lay there and let it do the work. It feels like a gentle massage. The rubber is very durable seems like it will last a long time and the pump is very quiet running, I can barely hear it. They included a small vinyl repair kit in case of a leak. I bought a $130 spring type mattress on Amazon (after spending $3,000 on a TempurPedic and absolutely hating it). I've set this on top of the cheap but firm mattress, and my body doesn't even come into contact with it anymore. The pump appears to be very well made and it allows you to choose your desired level of firmness from very firm to really rather soft. I have a full size mattress but I just set this on top and although it doesn't stretch the entire width, I really don't need it to. There's enough room left on the mattress for my service dog to lay near me. I really only have one complaint at this point and that is that the air hoses they supply with the pump are not very long and the result is that it's impossible to get the pump controls within easy reach of the patient's hands when they're in bed. A few extra feet of hose and the firmness dial would be right at your fingertips because the pump comes with handy hangers and you can hang it right on your bed frame. I will probably purchase longer air hoses at some point to give me a little more variety without having to get out of bed.I'm so glad I found this! One of the very few pleasures in my life anymore.

we bought this for my father in law - who has had a stroke and has no use of his left side ( for now ) - he cannot adjust himself in bed - so gets bed sores quickly from being in one position. this mattress has a constant automatic movement - and he has had 0 - not one bedsore since he has been using it. it is also very comfortable for him to lay on - have had it for months and it continues to perform - worth every penny - would of purchased if twice the price. Medicare supplied a different one - and it was not even close to performing like this one.

It was a little daunting to scan the choices for this kind of air mattress pad support for my husband who is paraplegic and currently between surgeries to eventually close up a trauma wound. I have found this particular pad to be helping him during this hiatus as he is bed-bound for most of the day. This pad was affordable, easy to set up on our double bed, inflated quickly, operates easily and quietly. The control box does vibrate/hum so it's parked on the floor vs. hanging on the foot board. In the month he's been using this pad and as someone who sleeps on his back, I have seen no evidence of any other skin breaks or pressure sores on his body. Ideally he should be in a Clinitron bed like he was in the hospital last month but they will not rent them for use in a private home. I am so thankful this alternative is working in his favor at home in the meantime until he can have the other surgery.

I found this mattress to be heavy duty and the pump nearly silent. The pump hangs conveniently at the foot of the bed. The mattress is a dream to lay on. We got it for my wife recovering from surgery and I lay on it whenever she lets me because it feels so great. It was very easy to assemble and after a couple of months I had a question about how I was using it and the company couldn't have been more accessible and helpful. I definitely recommend this mattress system - my wife's pressure points no longer bothered her with this product supporting her 24/7. Doug Roger

I would have rated the Air-Pro at a higher rating except that my grandfather got so hot he would sweat and brake out in itchy bumps all over his back.

I'm a live-in caregiver for a senior lady. The pump & matress paid for by Medicare and fulfilled through a middle man had done a great job at keeping pressure sores away, but it began malfunctioning. Her pressure sores were getting progressively worse, and cutting through the red tape to get a new one was taking too long. She needed a new pump and matress, fast.The middle man was charging over $400 to purchase out of pocket. How delighted I was to find the exact same product for less than half the price on Amazon through Blue Chip! The lady I take care of gladly paid for it with fast shipping. In only 3 business days I had the new mattress and pump hooked up, and her sores are now on the road to recovery.I'm more than satisfied with Amazon and Blue Chip Medical. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. They literally saved my lady's life.

This is the second alternating mattress I have purchased and both have failed before the warranty of 6 months.this time I am trying to get a replacement.
