**Q: If you had to choose one panasonic prime lens for your mft camera - would you get this one (25mm) or the 20mm f1.7? main use: portrait, night, street**
A: The 20mm focus speed is not terrible.  It is a bit loud and not suitable for video.  I have both and like both.  I find I use the 20mm more often.  The Normal Lenses, I never really liked all that much.  Just because it is the normal view for an eye doesn't mean it is all that useful.  I like 42.5mm for portrait, and one of my most used lenses is the 7-14mm.  Back to the 20 mm.  You can use it for portrait but it's not as good as the longer lens.  My recommendation.  Get the 20mm and add another lens later.

**Q: Is this compatible with the DMC-G6KK**
A: Yes, it and all other lenses made for "micro four-thirds" ("MFT", "micro 4/3", etc.) are compatible with all MFT bodies in terms of the bayonette mount, although Panasonic and Olympus have different approaches about what functions to put in their lenses vs. in their bodies instead - so, in general, many Olympus lenses work better on Olympus bodies, and many Panasonic lenses work better on Panasonic bodies (even though they share the same mount and electrical contacts).

**Q: Will it work with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5?**
A: Yes, I actually used it on my GF5... it does look very disproportionate, but it works the same as on any other m 4/3 camera

**Q: Will this work on a dji x5 or the x5s thanks**
A: Yes it will. You just need to get the weight balance correct. Any micro 4/3 lens will fit but getting the weight balanced is the big problem.  You can make this lens work by using the lens hood and adding weight if needed. The field of view is more narrow so things will look closer and you can see more shake in the videos because of it.

Good fast, sharp, auto focus 50 mm lens. The auto focus can seem to hunt around a bit, depending, but it hasn't failed to lock in and take great photos, especially in low light. A good f1.7 lens for $150 is a bargain, considering, and you get dual auto focus with this lens and a Panasonic G85 or similar camera with in-body stabilization. Be warned, on a G85, anyway, I will get an error message "Len's not properly attached". The problem seems to be that all the electrical pins in the lens may not contact the body contacts unless you jiggle the lens ever so slightly after mounting it. It took me a little while to figure this out. Not sure if it's a defect in the camera, lens, or design- but I can get this error putting the kit 12-60 mm zoom as well. I.e., the lens fits secure and tight, but apparently it needs this little jiggle once on to make sure all the contacts seat. I've seen comparisons with the Leica 50 mm f1.4 lens, and frankly, the difference in quality is so minimal, plus the cheaper Lumix lens is quieter and will focus nearer and goes to f22. For me, it's the better choice for these reasons.

So where do I start?! This lens is absolutely amazing to say the least!!! I’m a freelance videographer/filmmaker, but I’ve been playing around with still photos as of late to broaden my skill set. This lens is absolutely fantastic in so many ways. The size and weight are both great. I love the compact form factor hence the reason I’m using the micro 4/3 system. The build quality is pretty good given the fact it’s a plastic lens. It doesn’t feel flimsy. Some reviews claim you can’t attach filters to the lens but you can. You Just have to remove the cosmetic ring. The image quality is super crisp, especially when you’re in good lighting. 25mm (50mm full frame equivalent) is a great focal length and is a must have for any camera owner. The fact it’s a prime lens is great because it forces you to move your camera and be more creative with your shots vs just zooming. This lens has a VERY close focusing distance! It’s nearly macro lens close! In one of the attached photos I literally had my camera sitting on my desk about 7 inches from the power brick I photographed. In that same photo you can also see how shallow the depth of field gets wide open at f1.7! Not to mention the f1.7 aperture comes in handy in low light situations! This is a VERSATILE lens that I HIGHLY recommend! If you don’t have a camera and you’re looking to purchase one. I suggest skipping the kit lens and buy the body only. Let this be your first lens!!! Trust me you won’t regret it! You can’t get that bokeh (blurry back ground) with the kit lenses.
