As I have an iphone, I was also concerned about vibrations created through the handlebars damaging the camera and breaking it. I made sure therefore to buy the vibration dampener also. I bought the phone case too, as that made sense, and it makes a great day to day case whilst off the bike, very sturdy and solid.
