Review: I would recommend this - This unit has been great. Easy setup , helps with the power usage in spring and the fall. Not too loud really. You can hear it but not overly loud. I would recommend.
Review: The fan is great, but the mounting process hasn’t been thought out as carefully - The fan itself is excellent. It’s quiet, powerful, and efficient. However, a few aspects of the installation haven’t been well thought out. Most importantly, the motor controller is mounted on the top of the fan. If you have a shallow attic, the controller ends up right below the roof, which means you need to remove the fan from the hanger straps to see the controller LEDs, press the test button, or pair the remote. You can’t flip the fan around to put the control on the side or bottom because the straps are too short. Second, you are supposed to drill the provided screws through the drywall and then through sheet metal flanges, which aren't supported in the back. That might be fine if the screws were self-drilling, but they aren’t, and they can’t penetrate the flange on their own. You end up needing to pre-drill holes or get self-drilling screws. This is a fairly minor hassle, but it would’ve been so easy for the manufacturer to include appropriate screws, especially for a fan that costs more than $1,000. Third, and this is just the manufacturer not explaining installation well, the instructions are for joists 16" or 20" apart. Mine are 14-1/4" apart, but the damper box fits when both side flanges are removed. Finally, the power line hookup and duct fasteners are now much better than shown in the instructions, which is great, but why aren't the instructions updated (if you have to get them online anyway)?

The fan itself is excellent. It’s quiet, powerful, and efficient. However, a few aspects of the installation haven’t been well thought out. Most importantly, the motor controller is mounted on the top of the fan. If you have a shallow attic, the controller ends up right below the roof, which means you need to remove the fan from the hanger straps to see the controller LEDs, press the test button, or pair the remote.
