This is an excellent PCI solution for those looking to upgrade from the motherboard audio while adding some nice features such as specialized inputs and outputs along with full MIDI support including soudfonts and ASIO compatibility for use with other pro level studio gear.Although the card is five years old, it is an original new Dell part made by Creative Labs and shipped by Red Planet Trading Co in Texas, and contained inside an anti-static bag between two squares of ample closed cell foam rubber within a sturdy cardboard box.The package arrived a day early and in excellent condition. The bag was still sealed. The card installed easily on W764SP1 and vastly improved the already good audio on the Dell Precision T3600 workstation. I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone who loves studio quality sound.

I bought this for my son's computer, as he is using Sibelius for composing music. We specifically sought a sound card with ASIO support. This seems to work very well.

yes the ASIO works and updatable drivers but there is still latency but it can run between 10-50milisec depending on setting of recording software. hope this helps
