It looks nice but it definitely needs customized to be useful and safe. Review: Brilliant design, excellent customer service - I bought the biggest model for my Goffins Cockatoo. The design is practically perfect. Large panels slide into slotted side pieces inside the cage bottom. A perfectly fitting top serves as a lid and provides extra support. Additional acrylic strips are soldered strategically to prevent panels from sliding in, out, or up and down. The instructions are sparse, as one reviewer noted, however it's so intuitive you hardly need directions. The one problem I had was the back panel oriented incorrectly. Once I rotated it, all was well. My bird doesn't fly and I wanted to be sure that she wouldn't flutter down to the floor and get stuck there. I fastened a wire shelf vertically, (12"x36", $10 at Home Depot) to the side of the cage. I had to drill extra holes, but it wasn't hard: Use duct tape on both sides of the panel, have one person hold a wood board against the inside of the panel while the second person drills. We didn't have any cracking or chipping. The shelf replicates the bars in her old cage and ensures her access to all levels of the cage. IF YOU TELL THEM you want extra holes, they will do it and even provide extra short perches at no cost. We did that, but we just didn't think of needing the wire shelf until after we had the cage put together. I've been using a particular water bottle for nearly 20 years and I wanted to be able to keep using it. I set them the measurements and they placed the holes for the screws and water spout. Our bird already had a big cage, but we wanted something to cut down on kibble tossing across the room and screaming every time anyone tries to talk on the phone. So far, the sound is a little muffled. We can still hear her talk, which we like, but the ear-splitting screams don't hurt our ears anymore. Our sun room looks a lot nicer. The oak stand has lots of storage room and it's made of oak-veneered hard wood. No plastic laminate. This won't come overnight, especially if you ask for customization. I waited about 6 weeks. It came packaged securely on a pallet. I paid the truck driver $25 to help me undo the pallet get all the boxes into the house. Totally worth it. Once in the house I was able to put everything together myself, but I needed two strong friends to help me lift it onto the stand. This is worth the wait, and worth the money. 3/2/18 Update This cage remains a good investment. We own a bed and breakfast now and have the cage positioned where all the guests can see Yogi, which Yogi loves. People can go nose to beak with her, but stay safe. I buy large rolls of brown paper and cut off sections to fit the cage bottom. I usually do 30-40 at a time. Then each morning, I grab the used paper by the corners, bunch it up and toss it out. Very quick and easy. Keeping the cage walls hasn't been too difficult. Every 2-3 weeks I wipe them down with a wet cloth and then polish with a dry cloth. About every two months I replace the booda rope perches I use instead of wood. I have additional perches in the cage that are rough for her nails and beak. The door has held up fine, and is as good as the day it was new. It's big enough that I can lean into the cage for cleaning corners. I wish that there were side doors. The size of the cage is fine for my Goffins Cockatoo (about the size of a pigeon). I have not needed to call customer service. From other comments, it may be that I wore them out with my initial requests for customization. That said, it isn't difficult to drill your own holes before you put the cage together.
