Great way to serve potatoes!
Great value for the cost. I wish recipes were included with it.

Looks like it should do the job
This was purchased so I can slice potatoes for hasselback style cooking. I haven't used it yet, but it looks perfectly adequate for the job and the price was okay too.

A bit of a let down
I hadn't realised how difficult this would be to use. I've used it twice now. First time was a miserable disaster. It can't grip the potato because it's hard plastic. I made one slice, then left the knife in to hold the potato down, and re-started at the other end. Not very successful as it unbalanced it, and the handle of the stationary knife got in the way. Even trying to hold the potato with my thumb wasn't great because the potato moves about too easily.Next time i used huge potatoes. That was better, but even when the potatoes fit, the plastic markers move too easily, so i did unintentionally cut out a few wedges. I'm now clearer about the kind of thing I need. This isn't it. But it's ok if you're feeling patient.

to large
as much as I've known about cooking, hasslebacks are smaller potatoes.this is more suited to jacket potatoes due to the size.the idea is good, just not for smaller potatoes (which I needed it for

Simple design. Does the job.
It’s not quite the “perfect solution” for creating Hasselback potatoes, but it is very helpful. The unit is rigid plastic so you need to have something that will hold smaller potatoes in place otherwise they roll around and get cut unevenly (I used my finger and cut VERY carefully, a tea towel might work too). For larger potatoes (jacket potato sized), it’s good. What is so helpful, when compared to cutting freehand, is that you know you are not going to accidentally cut too deeply and break the potato. It is a lot easier to use than the “cut potato on a spoon” method.I think it’s a little expensive for what it is, but it does the job for creating uniform cuts, goes through the dishwasher, and is easy to store.
