Friends of mine bought the Ring Doorbell by Amazon, however, I wanted to try another brand as there was lots of choice and cheaper prices on offer. Doing the research, reading the reviews of others in the top 100 list I chose this one because it has a great average score as well as looked the part with the SD card option (didn't want to pay for monthly cloud subscription). After a week's holiday and a few days at home I sadly opted to return the item. Here's my findings:The doorbell was well packaged and good (non-native English) attempt at the instructions including installation, charging for 10-12 hours (only USB lead included, not adapter) and app installation. I installed a Wi-Fi booster as the original Wi-Fi wasn't good enough reach. This is only a few metres away from the doorbell and showed 62-75% average connection which is good to connect with the HD video setting (default is SD). The video quality is very good.All was setup and good to go a few days before a week's holiday away from home. However, on day 2 before my holiday I noticed the doorbell wouldn't show live stream (app stated: 'offline') in the morning (I like to power off my mobile at night). I walked past it and then it reconnected fine. During my week's holiday I noticed a whole day of the app showing 'offline' when I tried to view the live stream through the day. I must had tried a dozen times but with the same issue. So I emailed Heim Vision and was told the following:"Thank you for your email.Yes. For the item, it will go to sleep mode when there is no motion detection for saving power. In this case, could you please try to test to click the offline on the APP to see it will start working again or not?We are looking forward to your early reply."It didn't make sense sadly so I did my own thing. Keep trying! Anyway, after sometime the next day it worked again! I have also emailed the company via their in-app support messaging system, to date, no response. I also posted a question on Amazon and the answer came from someone with a flat battery which didn't help!I have to admit the battery is very good as it's still 91% after nearly 2 weeks and a lot of use. I bet many people with poor battery reviews haven't used the right power adapter?The motion detection of the door is over sensitive and faulty as when choosing 'night only' it still detects motion during the day and vice-versa! The settings are low or high, however, cars driving past at 8 metres away and a leaf or two moving at the bottom-right of the camera all set it off! Sorry but the advertising states 'human only' but that's not the case! Though it did pick up the post lady a few times which was good!I've decided to go for an Eufy doorbell because it's a much more established company and they've put a lot of effort into their app/doorbells too. It may cost a bit more but in my opinion, it's worth it! Also there is no monthly subscription like Ring.I can only recommend this product for those who want to save a bit of money and don't care about the motion detection and live stream being reliable. It does take a few seconds for the app to wake up from pressing the doorbell but enough to talk to the person at the door.

Item was delivered in less than a week. First thing I noticed was the premium packaging. Then the included screwdrivers and usb cable. It's a nice touch to include everything needed and quite rare.Installation was quick and easy, the instruction booklet very clear with step by step instructions. I'd installed the video doorbell in just half an hourThe app is easy to use and after playing with it for a short while we were up and running.The video quality is great, I get a good view of the doorway and front of house. It even includes cars parked outside, so the angle is spot on.I installed an SD card that I already had so saving video is easy. It's great to have this option so subscribing to a cloud service is optional rather than compulsory.In my opinion, this is a premium product for a very reasonable price. It even comes with a door chime so no need to spend more in buying one.

After a month. Battery has dropped by one bar. Out of five. But I keep getting duplicate notifications. And when I try to check I don't see anything recorded. In fact sometimes I have to wait an hour to see the video recorded from the motion detection.

I've had this bell for a week.It works well and the chime is loud enough for me to hear in my room upstairs.When the bell is rung the app rings on the phone and it's not done it only once so a one off.The app was ok to install. I used the manual method as the qr code is on the phone so not sure how to scan it.I was thinking it is easy for someone to steal the bell but my neighbour pointed out the the screw used to secure it is a special one and the screw driver comes with the bell and it's unlikely many people will have it.The only thing I would say is if it is possible to link the bell to my phone so in case someone does get hold of it then they can't.Overall, good value for money

this kept registering movement even though it was not close to a road, path or even bushes or plants, it just had a lawn in front of it for over 9 meters on all sides, but the motion detector would go every 10 seconds, so the battery would run out in 7 hours not 6 months, I tried all the resets as advised by customer care but to no avail, I returned it after 1 week

I really good camera doorbell. I am really impressed with the overall quality of the product. The camera doorbell was well packaged and easy to install and the instruction was easy to follow . There was no issues with downloading the app onto my phone. The quality of the HD camera is good, can clearly see peoples faces. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

I bought a same brand smart outdoor security camera to monitor my driveway. the video doorbell is much easier to install and much quicker to connect, great build quality compare to the outdoor security camera, it is a good alternative to Rings.However, I have to use two different APPs to control the two cameras even they are same brand...

I have to say the camera has fantastic sound and image quality, and seems to cope perfectly fine at sub zero temperatures outside in the cold, motion detection also works very well as does the app alert system which gives you instant notifications when you have a visiter allowing you to communicate with them before answering the door via the microphone and using the app in combination.You can use the camera either via batteries or hooked up to the electrics in your house using the included cables. The camera as a whole feels very high end with great feeling materials and a sturdy design.I highly recommend the brand
