This is high-quality mass-loaded vinyl material. It absorbs sound effectively, is easy to cut, and, just as important, is often overlooked: it has no off-gassing and no smell. It is remarkable. Review: Helps in a condo with loud downstairs talkers and sneezers - We didn't have high hopes because we just put it on top of our wood floor--in sections and underneath rugs. Nevertheless, it greatly muffled our downstairs neighbors. We can still hear them but the higher pitches are muted. The lower pitches are much less annoying. We're buying another role to cover more of the floor. As others have said, it's heavy, does not have any odor, and is easy to cut.

Very thick and heavy plastic material. Thank goodness I was able to cut with plain shears. It was a little hard for me putting it up because of the weight, but I attached it to the door with nails, and it worked. I also put a little around the door to the wall and made sure to cover the space at the bottom of the door. I tested it out with a loud TV, and it gave above 90% noise cancellation, and that is better than I can ask for. I would use it again by borrowing a man's muscles to help out. Very good product. It works way better than those felt squares and the so-say noise cancellation foam squares.
