It has worked extremely well but when I bought a second one the performance was unsatisfactory even after a couple exchanges. I settled on trying this one after researching Phoenix Contact's various models - this one has a good range of wire capabilities. I use it to strip 22ga, 24ga, 16 ga and 14ga stranded machine wire. The Wirefox operates similar to the Knipex but with one important distinction - it has an adjustable cut depth feature. Set it toward + for thinner wires and toward - for heavier gauge wires. After setting the proper cutting depth it performs flawlessly and as it should - just set your wire to the adjustable depth stop and squeeze - flawless and fast. I have to strip thousands of small gauge wires for the machines I build so I cant afford to have a tool that requires waiting for the blades to 'bite' or overcutting that takes a few strands with the insulation. This one does the job. Its nice and light - made of a high quality plastic and the blue part is a rubberized texture. Its made in Sweden. You usually get what you pay for and these tools are no exception. I've used the under $30 cheap ones as well and there's really no comparison. The mechanical action of this type of stripper does all the work - you're hands wont get tired from squeezing the handle. Review: Excellent wire strippers, almost up to 8 awg - Very nice strippers when used correctly. Test with scrap to set the cut depth using the +/- slider at the top, then set the cut length with the stop in the jaws. You can also bypass the stop to cut mid-wire. Max length either way is 18 mm (0.71”). Marginal for 8 awg wire, and I have to rotate the wire and make a couple of half cuts first. Maybe there’s a trick I’m not aware of. As for the review asserting that this is a bogus knockoff of Pressmaster, the reviewer is mistaken. Pressmaster is owned by Phoenix Contact. They say so on their website. In my opinion the Wirefox 10 works best on stranded individual wire. The blades are a little grabby on solid sore individual wires. **Q: Are the blades replaceable in the wirefox 10 from Phoenix contact?** A: Yes. Phoenix sells replacements for it. I needed to adjust the depth before starting the work so I just used a end piece and adjusted, and away you go. Works well and is consistent.
