In Star Trek; Deep Space Nine, Gold Pressed Latinum is used as currency by many worlds, most notably the Ferengi Alliance. Latinum cannot be replicated and the reasons for its rarity are unknown. There are five amounts of the Ferengi Currency. The denominations of Gold Pressed Latinum are shown in the pictures above. In decreasing amounts of value from size they include the Brick, Bar, Ingot, Strip, and Slip. Shown is a set of four and Five Replica Gold Pressed Latinum pieces. Each piece was cast from a mold that was originally taken off a real prop piece. Each piece is made out of solid metal and is plated Gold with some antiquing where needed to have the symbols show better. The largest or Brick piece is cast from Hydro-Cal. The symbols are not printed but are carved into each piece. The backside of each piece is flat just as picture below shows. The bar is the largest value of the four shown. It is 4.5 inches long X 2.5 inches wide X .5 inches thick. The other 5 Pieces are available as a set or separately in other selections.
