Great acting, cool experience watching.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. And yeah, as some people have said, there are plot holes. But the story feels very real... it doesn't have a lot of "bling" on it... everything is very simple. Everyday actions become tense, and that's a good part of the movie's charm. You get easily attached to the characters, and you find yourself wondering what you might do in that situation. It'll make you want to be quiet. It'll make you cover your mouth and sob into your hands (if you're a big ol' crybaby like me) just to keep from making a sound. If it's a concern for you, the movie is very clean. Not much for dialogue, so no swearing. No sexual content. I was worried it would have cheesy, unnecessary gore; It does not have that. The blood is pretty mild in my opinion... tasteful seems like a weird word to use for blood. But, uh, tasteful. The star of the show was absolutely the acting. I realize even people giving poor reviews noted how amazing the acting is. There is sign language for dialogue, but even that is extremely minimal compared to most movies. It's truly a different experience to watch a movie that you actually have to WATCH, or you won't know what's going on. All the emotion is carried by the acting, music, and camera work. Phenomenal use of what sounds they do include, in my opinion.Overall, it's a very cool movie, and not like anything I've seen before. I enjoyed it.

As overrated as it gets
Do yourself a favor and read all the other 1-star reviews. Not only is it amusing, but they've pretty much got the plot holes covered. And there are a lot. I guess what bothered me most were the all CGI aliens. I will never understand the appeal of a CGI creature feature. There is no tension. They're reacting to NOTHING. Also, who has a baby in this environment? And they happen to have the QUIETEST BABY EVER. A shotgun blast is fired in the same room, and, not a peep. The whole hearing-aid-is-the-creature's-Achilles-heel was done in 2009, in Feast III. Only that movie thrived on, and had fun with, absurdity. I'm always weary of PG-13 horror, but this was so well-received. $9 down the tubes. It's no surprise that Michael Bay was involved with this travesty. This guy has a sordid history with horror movies and remakes. The main problem with most modern horror (and by modern, I'm talking the last decade), is that there is zero attention paid to detail. And this is why you get so many glaring plot holes. All these filmmakers know are tropes. So just string a bunch of them together, and you've got yourself a movie (like A Quiet Place), with no effort made for the world make sense.

Everyone was doing their best to remain completely silent during the film
This movie was so gripping. I was tense and on the edge of my seat the entire time. The use of sound was really interesting, and this movie had an effect on the entire audience. Everyone was doing their best to remain completely silent during the film. People were even unlikely to eat their food, so as to avoid disturbing the silence. That effect alone was enough to make this movie worth it. Add in the excellent acting performances and you've got yourself a great movie.

Stupid premise, absurd movie.
I can't see why this movie is getting all the praise. It's just an updated (and, yes, petter produced) version of DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS", except the plot has even more holes and requires not just a suspension of disbelief, but a complete, slack-jawed acceptance of absurdity after absurdity. After ten minutes, I was rooting for the aliens.

A+ Sci-Fi Horror movie
This movie was so well done! As a big fan of horror movies, it is hard to come across a good one nowadays. A Quiet Place is very original and full of suspense. I saw it in theaters and have never had an experience quite like that. This movie was fantastic all around, great plot, cast, acting, directing, shooting, etc.

Exceeds expectations. Doesn't bore and keeps you intrigued. Thumbs up.
Exceeds expectations. Not going to lie, went into this thinking it had a somewhat lame concept but the reviews looked good so i gave it a shot. Overall without spoiling anything i enjoyed this movie. Never a dull moment and had some good acting and the story progressed well throughout. I would definitely recommend this. This was one of those movies that matched the reviews online which i read. Good stuff.

Finally, something I haven't seen before.
Finally, something I haven't seen before. Emily and John make the perfect couple (on and off the screen). The music flows in and out of the movie effortlessly, you can barely tell that no one is talking.

Worked for me.
What a wonderful movie. I had reservations about watching this, but I must say, that I was pleasantly surprised. A movie which doesn’t have much dialogue, needs to have a lot of other things going for it, and this one certainly does. Some absolutely marvellous moments more than compensate for the lack of a script, and the whole movie seethes tension and suspense. The acting is top notch and the creatures suitablely threatening. People have mentioned the “down beat “ ending, but I felt that it fitted perfectly, and gives the viewers hope that there could be a way to defeat the enemy. Beautifully made and the time flew watching this marvellous addition to the genre. Well worth watching again.

At least it’s not noisy
The BRD slipcase is covered wth 5-star ratings and “A masterpiece that will scare for generations”. Ignore all that baloney. What will scare you is how the film actually got made and even more scary that they are doing another. Whilst it contains a decent idea there are a number of important logical inconsistencies that undermine the narrative. The more I think about those the more it makes me wonder if the writer(s) deliberately took an exploitative line and were fully aware of what they were doing - the nail in the step for example. Writers of this type of film do allow characters to become stressed, tired and emotional so when those characters do stupid things they hope we go along with it and are sympathetic. So beware, there is lot of stupid in this film. If you buy this and watch it you will have many questions- e.g. if creatures have sharp metal shredding claws that easily slice open a large water tower tank why don’t the claws work on a car roof? I felt duped and I can only hope all concerned with this have learned from their mistakes and won’t do it again.

A Waste of Space- Turkey warning!
The premise is some kind of alien beings have invaded the earth but they conveniently only respond to sound so the first part of the film has Blunt, Krasinski and their young family only communicating via sign language. Unfortunately, this is excruciating to watch and goes on for literally half of the film except for a brief moment when Krasinski takes his son to a nearby waterfall and they have a conversation. There is no explanation of how this alien invasion happened or where everyone else is as the film is basically nonsense and low budget so they couldn't afford to get more than a few more bit part actors involved. Also, apparently, Krasinski wrote this dire garbage so he should seriously think about giving up writing for good if not acting. The aliens are not scary at all and mainly shown in brief rushed sequences and you can't help but wish you'd watched this film in the same manner on fast forward. Avoid.

Silence is golden
A QUIET PLACE turns a standard sci fi horror plot into something unique through the use of the need to be silently stealthy, this allows the constant buildup of tension and an effective use of Jump scares. But the main theme is around the survival of a family unit and it’s good to see a horror based so effectively around this concept. The acting is superb and much of the dialogue is in sign language, add this with many small touches such as the need to walk barefoot to prevent noise or play board games on soft felt to prevent being heard really adds to the desperate atmosphere which permeates the whole movie! However, the film isn’t perfect, in the sense, if you strip away the touches and leave the plot bare , you’ll find an average movie which has been done multiple times before, add this with some odd decisions, such as the safety of running water ( why not camp by streams? Seems pretty obvious) or the fact I’m sure the military and a few mega phones could have done some considerable damage to these * monsters * then you’ll find the veneer of perfection quickly disappear. But if you ignore these discrepancies within the film you’ll find yourself immersed in a great movie.
