Almost all of the available smartlock products out there are for deadbolts. Deadbolt smartlocks usually require a motor to engage/disengage the bolt. As a result, they're bigger, have shorter battery life, can jam if your deadbolt requires "jiggling". The advantage of a lever lock is that to "lock" it simply requires that the device decouple the lever handle from the mechanism (so when you turn the handle, nothing happens). Unlocking is simply the reverse. So these devices are usually smaller, have better battery life, etc. There may be other reasons why you need a deadbolt (security, pre-existing hardware), but all things being equal, these are easier devices to work with.Our house only has a lever lock, not a deadbolt. So until I found this product, I was going down the path of figuring out how to retrofit a deadbolt into my door. I was so happy when I found this!Installation took minutes - great tutorial video online by Schlage. All you need is a screwdriver. It comes with one backup physical key in case the device fails for some reason. I have owned it for 2 months and the battery has gone down 15%, so at this rate I will only have to change the batteries once per year or less.I use mine with a Samsung SmartThings Hub. Pairing is easy as long as you follow the directions. The native device-type handler (DTH) and SmartApp for Samsung SmartThings Smart Locks works OK, but there's a better one out there coded by RBoy (search for RBoy Apps) that gives much more flexibility and fixes a specific issue where the lock doesn't send a signal when it automatically "re-locks", so the lock status in the app would be out of sync with the lock itself (it would show unlocked when it was actually locked). The RBoy app also allows you to configure schedules for the keycodes (example: if you want to create a code that only works on certain days of the week, at certain times, during certain modes, or set to auto-expire after a certain time period or number of uses) as well as notifications when specific codes are used. I'm very happy overall with the product and the SmartThings integration.If I could, I would deduct 1/2 star for two reasons: First, I wish I didn't have to purchase a separate DTH for the extra features (named codes, notifications, auto-relock, scheduled codes, etc), I wish it came natively with SmartThings, but that's as much Samsung's issue as it is Schlage's. Second, I wish this lock supported codes longer than 4 digits, for added security.As an example of just how useful these things are, we have this installed at a vacation home 100 miles away. This past week, the temperatures plummeted and I was very worried about the pipes freezing. I called a neighbor and asked him to check on the house and to leave the faucets on a trickle to prevent them from freezing. In the time it took him to walk over to our house, I was able to provision a code on my iPhone which worked perfectly. We will also be able to use it to set up codes remotely for guests who want to borrow the house, housekeepers, handymen, plumbers, and others without having to distribute and collect physical keys. All of that convenience and peace of mind is worth the price of the lock, in my opinion.

These Schlage locks are great. I have two of these, one on the garage entrance door and one on a closet I used to store weapons in. I also have two of the Schlage Connect dead bolt locks for the front and rear entry doors. I use these with my Smartthings hub and they work very well. The have built-in alarms which is cool. I can keep track of when the doors are opened and can get text messages so I know when people are coming and going at my house. I also set an alarm to notify me if these doors are opened after 10 pm at night. The front and rear entry locks I have set to lock if they have been unlocked for more than 90 seconds. This is just in case someone forgets to lock the door after they leave.I like these for interior doors as they don't make any noise really when they unlock the door. They also relock the door after a few seconds by default. These are the Schalge Connect Dead bolt versions. They do make noise when unlocking/locking so early in the am or late at night, I use a key so as not to wake up a sleeping child.  Schlage Connect BE469NX CAM 619 Touchscreen Deadbolt with alarm & Camelot Trim, Satin Nickel One more thing to point out, I live in Texas and during the high-heat summers, I have had issues with the finish coming off handles and deadbolt devices. However, the finish on these has been GREAT! No issues at all with finish wearing by the direct exposure to the sun.NOTE: I do NOT use the schalge connect home hub and service. This costs money each month. I use a Smartthings hub as there is NO monthly fee and I can do everything I need to do with their apps. Great unit, glad I made the purchase however, unfortunately, it looks like this unit was previously opened and packaging tape on unit was removed. The instructions were only partially included; no documentation was in the box on how to program the lock, or warranty card. I did call the included toll free number and they immediately emailed me the programming information; good job on that. I was replacing an older non-internet based Schlage keypad lock; so the installation was a breeze.Yesterday, however on returning home the keypad did not work, pushing the buttons failed to work (first button, lit, the rest didn't); almost like the batteries were dead. However after waiting a couple of seconds I tried it again and it did work. Will have to make sure I carry the manual key for awhile until I am comfortable and know I can trust the lock.I did pare the lock with the Nexia Z-wave and it also worked perfectly.I like the idea that I can remotely via Nexia add or delete codes as necessary, it also texts or emails me when a authorized user enters the house; really great feature. I also like the idea that unlike other door lock systems, you don't have to worry if someone else has a electronic key, or even a phone, to use the door lock, they don't need one, you control it all via YOUR cell phone app, or your computer. All they do is just punch in the code that you could have assigned only seconds ago!Great job, I would buy another one if I needed one.

Estas cerraduras en conjunto con el Smartthings de Samsung funcionan de forma excelente.Son caras pero como mencione se conectan al Smarthings y a traves de este pueden ser aperturadas o cerradas via internet desde cualquier lugar donde te encuentres. Ademas puedes configurar tu cel como sensor de presencia para que abra las puertas cuando llegas a tu casa. Por lo demas puedes abrirla con clave numerica o si la bateria se agoto con la llave. Es muy segura y su principal ventaja en mi opinion es su enlace con el smartthingsLa única desventaja es el precioActualización.Funciona con Alexa

Handle itself is great quality, my issue is with Amazon. It tells me on my PC it's compatible with Alexa I have the Echo Plus and a dot. I installed the handle and went to set up as a smart home devices and I couldn't figure it out so I looked for better instructions. I eventually opened the amazon app on my phone and it, unlike the website on a PC says it works with Alexa but only with a third party hub. Amazon needs to have 2 categories, with with Echo plus without hub and works with Alexa with third party hub. Now I have a hub on it's way to make this thing what I ordered it for, a smart device,
