I think you season iron kitchen pots and pans. But truly I don’t know. I bought these pots for friends of mine for their camping times. So far, no complaints. Used it for a camping weekend and it made awesome coffee and kept its heat decently well. It is easy to clean and fits perfectly on a small one or 2 burner camping stove. With the plastic handle, I didnt want to test it on the fire grating. Over all it is a great percalator, the reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the little plastic piece on the lid just does not stay on. It worked fine the first day using it but after that, it was difficult keeping it on to be able to remove the lid if needed.
