You can monitor via the computer or headphones or studio monitors.

Q: Does the sotware come with a DVD?

It does not. You create an account with PreSonus, and then register your product, and then you download all of the software. I don't think any manufacturers include DVDs anymore. It's all done via download now, across the board.
