Mine is mounted on the side of the dash so the phone faces me at an angle. With most phones being thin and light this isn't a problem with vibration moving the angle of the phone. Mine has a larger battery in it and is heavier, so vibration will eventually drag its angle downward. Overall, the rubber insert in the magnetic cup will dampen any movement. **Q: Will this work with a iPhone 11 Pro Max with outter box defender case?** A: Our Freemount opens up to 4 inches wide. An iPhone 11 Pro Max with an Otter Box Defender case will be a little too big for our Steelie Freemount. The iPhone itself is already around 3 inches wide. Adding a defender case will not give you any more room to squeeze the freemount to secure your iPhone in place.
