Because they make theirs and weld it together. This one is not. It is a solid 1/8 inch piece of steel. It is not powder coated, it is a wrinkle paint. But in my opinion, it shouldn't matter for this unless you drive like a retard. The top notch on where the led light bar goes has an opening rather than a hole. It has 2 holes below it. IT works great, but I would have made that opening closed for more security. None the less. Its with 3/4 less the price of most other company and is solid product. Gets 5 stars for build and price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Fit *by P***S on February 2, 2016* Fit was great! Finish was a bit cheap and had to touch up with a little rustoleum. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid mounts *by R***R on July 19, 2016* Great mounts. I did have to ream the the pre drilled holes out to accommodate for the beveled heads on the factory screws. Otherwise the screws will not seat far enough into the windshield frame. I found after the fact that you can just order the longer tail gate screws that are an 1 1/2" to replace the 7/8" oem Torx screws.
