Can't write review, the router was not able to be installed properly. Spoke to both mfr and ISP tech support. Likely defective, returned to Amazon.

Great Router... QoS iffy.
Waited for this router for over a year. Had to return the first one as after a couple days the WAN link/connection would sporadically drop. Have had the second one for a few months now and have not had this issue re-occur. One of the reasons I wanted this router was for the easy QoS setup. I have my files backed up to a cloud account and it can interfere with our VOIP phones as it will consume all the upload bandwidth. Even with my VOIP phone set to the highest Priority in QoS on this router ... We still experience the same issue. I've had to reduce the bandwidth schedule on the backup agent to combat this... however the QoS should take care of this and it does not...so not sure how effective it is. Maybe the QoS is for Download bandwidth only?

Arrived broken and received a refurbished in return
I purchased this item for my son. He told me the following:The router didn't work right out of the box. It kept power cycling. I called D-Link support and they determined that the unit was defective and issued an RMA. This occurred within the first 3 hours that I had the item. My network was down so I agreed to do a cross ship. At this point no one at D-Link told me that I would be getting a refurbished unit back. I mistakenly thought that since I was sending them a brand new unit that didn't work out of the box that I would receive a brand new unit. The replacement router didn't arrive for about 10 days. When I opened the box it was labeled as an AC3200 not the AC5300. I checked the part number on the router and it really was an AC5300. I called D-Link and complained. They offered up excuses but no solutions. I was given an email address to send pictures and voice my complaint but haven't heard back. First, why wasn't I sent a new unit to replace the new unit I sent. The device was only out of the box for 3 hours. Second, are they that incompetent that they send a refurbished router out in the wrong box without all of the items (missing the installation instructions).I have extensive IT experience and have used D-Link products for some time. I had an 880L that worked great. This router won rave reviews but in practice seems to be junk. I wanted to get the latest and greatest so that I could keep my network at top speed and run DD-WRT (D-Link router OS is no good). I will get an 890L but now I will keep a watchful eye on D-Link. I have no hesitation in moving to a different brand should D-Link fail to resolve this satisfactorily. I'm waiting on you, D-Link!I recommend that if D-Link support can't solve the problem and suggest sending it back that you deal with Amazon instead. At least you might get a new unit to replace the defective unit and then Amazon can deal with the company. I will say one positive thing about D-Link: the tech support was very helpful and considerate of my needs.

Fast WiFi, superb range, and awsome customer service!
JUST A HEADS UP ON A SCAM....I needed customer support so I Googled D-Link's number and called the number. The guy helping was explaining some things about routers and network security, but then started to try and sell me some services and almost got me until he said some things that just didn't add up, so I hung up.I Googled again and this time I went to D-Link's site and got their REAL NUMBER. So please make sure you get the number directly from the site.ACTUAL REVIEW.....First I'd like to say that I did have to move the router around in different places in my desk to get full signal at the other end of my house (1900 sqf).I wonder if the people having issues have downloaded the firmware updates when they installed the router?? Because I have none of those issues.Ok so now I called the real number and now we're cooking with gas the rep was helpful and patient. She helped me step by step through my procedure (for some reason the router was not getting internet). It maybe took 20/25 minutes and she helped resolve my issue. She helped setting up 3 networks, resolved the internet issue, and firewall setup.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WAS AWESOME AND I WANT TO GIVE HER PROPS...AGENT ID #4211 YOU ARE GREAT!I'm very pleased with the routers performance I have 2 laptops, 2 gaming consoles (Xbox & PS4), my house alarm, 2 TV's, my phone (Note 5), my Kevo Plus, Phillips Hue, Ring Video doorbell, Nest thermostat with smoke detectors, and my wireless satelite provider (no more crazy wires everywhere yay!). All hooked up to the router and all are working as they should FAST with NO lag! Two networks at 5GHZ and one at 2.4GHZ then all you do is decide who gets what. I never bothered with the guest network, but that is also available. Another cool feature you can decide what gadget gets priority over others. Great product and I would definitely buy it again, seller shipped as promised and product was not damaged.Hope this helps y'all if you are on the fence about buying this router.

This is a Awesome Router, I found it a little different to setup as i came from a linksys that had way more setup options etc. but this one was SUPER easy to setup & was working in just a few minutes. It looks like a UFO & i love the colors. this thing is HUGE & you will need a lot of space to have it work

Avoid like the plague
I have a number of issues with this device, here's a few:1) Constantly receive the message "Cannot locate router" when navigating the GUI2) The GUI won't respond and fails to save changes3) Tons of packetloss, I had to follow a guide and disable functionality I wanted in order to reduce the packet loss. For example, I disabled QoS and packet loss got a bit better, the whole point of QoS is to make the connection strong for the device you want, what a joke.4) My devices disconnect and reconnect oftenOn top of that the maximum admin password is 15 characters, what is this, a joke?I'll be returning and replacing this for less using a pfsense router and a Ubiquity AP.

Fast and efficient
Received and setup the router yesterday. So far so good. It's definitely fast. My old dlink router kept dropping devices (we have between 25-30 on our network).

So much poorer quality than my last cisco router.
It was advertised as fast. It's NotDefinitely not dependable. Even setting it to reset itself every morning it still crashes.Range when it's working isn't bad. That's the highlightResembles a crab, and makes me crabby.
